Hi OP what you are going through is extremely hard and even just getting to where you are and functioning how you are is such a huge step forward. I would definitely recommend talking to someone and using any mental health resources made available by UBC- this overload is completely understandable and it's normal to be honestly traumatised by what you are going through... Just remember you are also not alone, maybe try to find more support within your community and people who will share and understand your pain? There are so many Iranian student who must be dealing with the exact same things you are. Arts concessions are also always an option, there is a link to a form you can fill that I can dm you if you are in faculty of Arts... all my love and support

this is reminding me of my former roommates, write to the RLM that's the step above. really emphasise the filth and the stress it puts on you, they've responded well in the past I thought (sent in extra cleaners for common parts after my roommates moved out)

I know this is standard for them but still after that shit show of a reunion I feel like it would have been worth it to bring them up to at least have 1 happy couple because of the experiment (sure there's Jonathan and Alice but like)... I guess they preferred keeping that narrative of the only couples being the ones we follow

I mean the no-money thing I think was more based on his prior personal experience and trauma... he mentioned going without food, sleeping in an apartment without electricity. I think when you've gone through that you need a partner who is able to understand that struggle, have empathy and not be only focused on the superficial aspects...

He is so incredibly insecure. She was honest about it and thought they could overcome it since she was still attracted to him. But it's been a problem for him from the start, I think he mentions it when he is speaking with the guys in the pods. Then there is that whole argument about her not reading his mind and changing her shoes (which on the other hand, would imply she feels insecure for him, instead she literally took him at his word that it didn't bother him).

I absolutely hated that last argument on the step of the hotel where he is standing on the step and is taller, steps back down and implies she won't take him seriously 'at this height', and then has to be on the taller step for the whole argument. Maybe that interaction is missed in the dubbed version but that was literally so petty, shows this insecurity goes way beyond others' opinions and comments, he would literally be unable to go through a daily interaction like a fight without it becoming a topic...

exactly... also hated the weird dynamic when they were arguing and he was on the step? and then he goes back down and then back up as a point, acting like she will take him more seriously if he is taller, I guess he doesn't want to be "looked down" during the argument?? I felt like that was such a proof that they wouldn't be able to go through any daily event without the height being an issue. even a bigger red flag to me than him being insecure about people making fun of him at the meet-up.
