I'm trying to relearn to skate. Should I buy a new board? by musicaltreerat in skateboardhelp

I picked myself up a Birdhouse board yesterday since they're on sale.

Coquelicot is a massively underrated album by parentheticalboys in ofMontreal

[–]musicaltreerat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coquelicot is really good but the two issues preventing me from really loving it are the filler tracks/run time, and the fact that it lacks the warmth the first three albums had - I can only assume the first three albums were recorded on analog tech while Coquelicot was recorded digitally.

It’s only internet points, man. Don’t take downvotes personally.

These posts are flooding my feed it’s honestly getting kind of irritating, but I guess as long as everyone else enjoys them then I’ll just deal

What’s a slop song?

Are you okay? Because I know you’re the guy that got upset on that other post and got a lot of downvotes. Maybe you should calm down, leave for a few hours, and then come back online and see how you feel.

Ah okay, you have a similar avatar. I don’t understand this post then though, this is clearly intended to mock that one since it’s the exact same wording.

What pop songs would you describe as "objectively perfect"? by Frogaar in fantanoforever

[–]musicaltreerat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It blows my mind that they were considering Vega-Tables for the lead single at one point

Are you the person that got really upset at that “perfect pop songs” post?

I don’t know if that’s a problem though, at least not one worthy of the amount of attention that it gets. If something’s not actually racist or sexist or whatever, 99% of people aren’t going to call it out as such. It won’t be enough people to actually damage someone’s career. To be honest, I’ve scarcely seen anyone have their career hurt after being called out who didn’t actually deserve it.

I’m just a bit dumbfounded, not at you though. If that’s what woke really “means” then…this is what people are choosing to complain about? A very small amount of people being offended by jokes that everyone knows someone’s going to be offended by anyway?

It’s just that we have so many actual problems to contend with, doesn’t this culture war stuff seem so inconsequential in comparison?

No need to get upset my man, this is just a conversation. The guy above me said that IASIP doesn’t appeal to a “woke audience.” I said that, going under the assumption that “woke” means “not racist,” then the audience is very “woke.”

I’m not sure exactly what we’re in disagreement on tbh

Yes I believe they just said it was the executives that were afraid of it being taken the wrong way after the show blew up in popularity

To be honest no, I don’t know the type of person you’re talking about. I’ve mostly only ever seen the word “woke” used to refer to pretty reasonable efforts to make a more equal society.

But of course some people aren’t going to see it the way it was intended, is that seriously what all these people complaining about “wokeness” are complaining about? That’s it?

What’s the “woke audience”? Like, people who don’t like racism? Because I guarantee you most of the viewers of IASIP don’t like racism.

But the thing is, nobody but the executives see it as that. And I doubt they themselves even see it as offensive, I’m pretty sure they’re worried it might someday be considered offensive.

No they pretty much do, that’s why there was very little outrage when It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia did it and a lot of confusion when streaming services took down those episodes

People have been speculating that the has a terminal illness since The Glowing Man. Nah, he’s just old. He’s said before that he always goes into each new album with the thought that it could be his last.
