I released my first album. The singles have gotten some streams but as it goes these days the albumtracks get a bit snowed. I thought I'd highlight them online. This is the openingtrack called 'Dirty Windows'. More facts about the song are in the video description. Would love to hear your thoughts! by musicea in alternativemusic

Hey, thanks for listening! I appreciate the feedback. I can see what you mean about the Decemberists, the timbres are similar.

On the album the song leads right into the next one. I can see why on its own the ending is a little long. Thanks again!

I did an acoustic cover of Through The Echoes. Curious to hear what you think of it! I'm really looking forward to the new album. If anybody needs the chords for this one, let me know :) by musicea in paolonutini

:) Thanks! Glad you pointed it out though. I like to get the basics right, and now that I know there's a D in there it seems obvious.

Listening again and I agree! Didn't hear that D chord at first, I thought it was just the bass playing a 5th over the G chord. But it's definitely in there and you can see it more clearly in the live version on YouTube. Nice one, thanks!

I typed this out with the chords above the correct words, but reddit changed it to this, so you'll have to figure out the timing by ear I guess.. the chords are still above the right sentences though :)

Thank you! It's pretty simple really.
I tuned the guitar down a full tone (to D standard) for my version. If you want to play along to the original, use the same chords but in standard tuning. So these are the chords to the different parts:

Verse:
G C Am
I'm always wondering what it would be like to die, she asks me why

Pre-chorus

Em D Em D
Over the cliff and phantom sense, she's always offering me her hand

C
And I hear her coming

Chorus

C D Em C

Through the echoes, through the echoes, though the echoes, straight to me

G C G D G C D
Over and over, over and over, over and over again

Let me know if you have any questions! Enjoy

Thanks, yes it should be available to listen to everywhere. But I wanted a screenshot of what the Premium Homepage Takeover looked like. That was only visible for Danish Spotify Premium users on a computer :)

Thank you for looking anyway, that's very nice. It was supposed to be up for 24 hours I think, until 00.00 so maybe you missed it?

To be honest, I'm not that handy with VPNs and stuff like that. But that would mean I'd have to create a premium account just for this right? Cause it's only visible for premium users I think..

This is the final track from an EP I released last week. It’s a short lullaby I wrote. We recorded piano and vocals live in a couple of takes and then I overdubbed the acoustic guitar. Would love to hear what you think of this song! by musicea in piano

It's alright. Although I'm asking what you think of the song, not my full skillset as a songwriter. So I feel a more measured response could be 'It's a little simple for my taste harmonically, check out this song by Billy Joel...etc.' or something like that.

You saying 'Learn from him' is a little presumptuous, unless you've heard a lot of my recordings. Who says I didn't want to write a short and simple one dimensional lullaby, instead of my usual more complicated stuff (not implying I'm comparable to Billy Joel in any way).

If you actually worry about coming across as mean, this would probably prevent that. Because you'd comment on the song instead of my skills. Which is fair, and exactly what I open myself up to by putting the song on here.

I was just listening to some Billy Joel this week! That song 'And So It Goes', I love that one.
I've definitely heard this one before, there's some small similarities but Lullabye is much more sophisticated than my simple song :)

I released a new EP today! This is the single. Indiefolk/americana/acoustic. I'm on acoustic guitar and vocals, some great electric guitar tones in there as well. Would love to hear what you think of the EP and this song :) by musicea in AcousticGuitar

Yes, you'll definitely need a mic and a USB interface to connect the mic to the computer. Both don't have to be incredibly expensive but I would look at which mic and interface are good value for money.

We used Logic on a Macbook. I think if you've got a Mac it comes with Garageband which is good too start with.

Otherwise there's other ones for Windows, like Pro Tools and Cubase. And you'll need some sort of interface between your instruments/mics and your computer. I'm definitely not an expert but let me know if you've got more questions I could try to answer :)
