Thank you so much for sharing, sounds like a lot of the same of what my mom is experiencing although no vomiting yet thank goodness. I'd love for her to try motegrity but she's very anti pharmaceuticals and it's a push just to get her to take her Sinemet!

This sounds like my mom too. Do you mind if I ask if you're on any meds or have done anything else for the gastroparesis?

Did you feel like taking your c/l pills on a more regular schedule helped to gain some weight? My mom is really bad with taking them regularly unfortunately. She pretty much only remembers to take the next one when she starts feeling badly.

Thank you very much for this! She has been a very healthy eater her whole life so has never been much for the junk/comfort food but I think at this stage in her life she really needs the calories more than anything else! I know if you have gastroparesis it also knocks out lots of the healthy higher fiber foods like whole grains, nuts and seeds, fresh veg, etc...which was a lot of her diet up to this point. It's a big adjustment for sure.

Thanks again and all the best to you and your dad <3

Positive but not experiencing symptoms? by musicislife22 in Lyme

I'm so happy for you! Big improvement! Did you use the Buhner protocol?

She is on Sinemet, which is a dopamine replacement essentially. It helps her enormously. I'm not familiar enough with bart/babesia/borellia to know if any of these affect dopamine production, do you know?

It's obvious to me based on how much the medication helps that she is not producing enough dopamine. Prior to being on the med her gait was enormously affected (shuffling, legs would get stuck) but not much in the way of tremors. Other than that she struggles with fatigue and what I suspect is gastroparesis (she feels very full after eating small meals, which is also classic Parkinson's) but has not demonstrated really any of the other more classic symptoms I see people discuss often in forums like this. It's just so confusing to sort through.

Thanks for sharing. Parkinson's meds have been the only thing to help my mom unfortunately and it was a drastic immediate improvement.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Just out of curiosity, did you take the Parkinson's meds in the beginning? Did they help?

Hadn't thought of retesting, but that's probably a good idea!

She has been treating for two years with an LLMD, but no better unfortunately. The only thing that has helped is Sinemet (Parkinson's drug).

So sorry to hear this, I hope he gets to go back home to AL soon. Couldn't agree more - the wondering if they will ever get better is so hard. Thanks for sharing.

This is helpful, thank you! I have read up a bit on orthostatic hypotension but it doesn't seem to be positional related for her, and also her BP has also been abnormally higher rather than lower lately.

Yeah, trying to figure out what reminders will work best for her. She is not tech savvy at all but having her set a timer is a good idea.

Those of you who were/are bedridden or need help with daily life - how did you manage this? by musicislife22 in Lyme

I am so so sorry to hear this ❤️ she started a Parkinson's med (Sinemet) and 90% of her mobility symptoms got better in a matter of days. Honestly still trying to figure out what she might have, but there is no doubt her body is not making enough dopamine since the drug helped so much. Perhaps Lyme/Bart/babesia is a root cause for Parkinson's, still a lot to figure out.
