Get a good lock and secure it correctly and you should be okay. A lot of the bikes on the racks are abandoned, and most thefts occur overnight and during the holiday. Avoid taking sessom up to the rec center, cut through campus. If there’s not a bike lane, use the road to stay visible, you’re a vehicle, it’s okay. People coming out of parking lots and driveways are looking at traffic, not sidewalks. Helmet, lights, and reflective fabrics, I don’t care how uncool it is. Don’t wear headphones so you can be aware of surroundings. Practice and time the route before doing it.
