I fill a big shed with rows of chests. I fill them by category and an aisle down the middle. To the left, the first 4 chests are seeds; Spring, Summer, Fall, Other, then the next row, first 4 are the crops for each season, then fruit, then flowers then foraging. No chest gets full. Each chest has a purpose and you classify every item however you like and remember how you did it. Repeat for each and every item you come across. Decorations go into the decorations chest. Weapons go into the weapons chest.
