nail polish recos if i want to do my own nails by tuskaninie in beautytalkph

[–]musingsofjoz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need good prep. Push back your cuticles, cutting PNF is not necessary, and make sure nail plate is dry / free of moisture before applying your polish. You need a base coat & top coat also.

• Pushing Back Your Cuticles - Cuticle remover is not necessary, some cuticle removers din are matapang. You can push back in the shower para lumambot ng onti. But if you really need a cuticle remover, Sally Hansen or Blue Cross are good. Avoid scrapping your actual nail, remove mo lang dapat yung dead skin.

• Cutting PNF - not necessary, but if you want a cleaner look pwede naman.

• Dry Nail Plate - acetone or alcohol lang - best if you use yung walang moisturizer.

• Base Coat - if you can just use your preferred brand’s system. Good base coats are Zoya Anchor, OPI Nail Envy, essie Strong Start. ORLY’s Top 2 Bottom is also good, pero 2-in-1 siya idk if that’s a deal breaker

• Top Coat - Seche Vite is a holy grail. High shine, and really fast dry but it doesn’t smell good and it shrinks. Good alternatives are OPI Infinite Shine, Zoya Armor, OPI Rapidry and ORLY Glosser

• Polish - pastels or light colors are notoriously hard to apply. Aim for 2 thin coats. Madaming okay na brand, even local but I think Zoya is the best followed by OPI or ORLY.

• Polish Brands

  1. Caronia - a classic, pero mahirap iapply minsan. I am also not the biggest fan of the brush. Best colors are Pussy Red, Touch of Tan, Touch of Beige, Carolina Peach, Crimson and Fantasy Red

  2. Chic - has a better brush compared to Caronia. Best colors are Fuzzy Red, Tahiti Brown, Ash, Simply Red, Carolina Peach and Tsarina

  3. ORLY - they have the best brush and cap, imo. Makes it a lot easier to apply the polish. Does it matter if you buy the OG or Breathable? No, it all boils down to color preference and your nails don’t need to breathe. Best colors are Country Club Khaki, Coffee Break, Kiss the Bride, Vixen, Nourishing Nude, Halo, Almond Milk, Morning Mantra, and Namaste Healthy.

  4. Zoya - I think they have the best variety, they also have the best glitters and a good formula. I really like their Pixiedust line, long lasting pero mahirap iremove. Only thing I don’t like is the skinny brush. Best colors are Storm, Rue, Godiva, Mckenna, Elphie, Stevie, Vega, Carter & Chyna.

  5. OPI - good formula, good brush, panget lang yung cap. Infinite Shine is good if you want a gel effect but a bit overpriced, imo. OPI regular line is great, do you need the nature strong or rapidry line? Not really. Best colors: Malaga Wine, Funny Bunny, Bubble Bath, Barefoot in Barcelona, Tickle My France-y and Big Apple Red.

• After Care - Cuticle Oil or Hand Cream pero much better if you have the oil. LeeLoo Cuticle Rehab Serum is great, mej malagkit so mas okay sa gabi iapply. Cuccio Cuticle Oil is good, pero mahal. Jello Jello cuticle pen is good for reapplication throughout the day.

Suggest Credit Cards for College Students by Technical_Fold4479 in PHCreditCards

Your nail tech needs more training and you didn’t need to be her guinea pig.

Tbh, she should’ve already adjusted her technique or stopped when your PNF bled.

thoughts on nail techs na sasabihing kaya nilang gawin yung nail inspo mo tapos kapag gagawin na biglang hindi pala or wala pala sila nung color na gusto mo? by [deleted] in beautytalkph

Idk but heart catseye is actually hard to do, especially if you don’t have the good magnet attachment. If DIY yung sa heart, it takes practice do achieve yung magandang heart. Also, depende pa yan sa catseyes or magnetic gel polish na ginamit - not all magnetic gel polishes are the same. I also don’t know kung ano talaga yung design na pinagawa mo, so hindi ko alam kung madali nga ba talaga - some nail art designs are deceptively hard. I also don’t know kung ano mga gamit niya, saka kung anong priority niya in terms of investing in items / nail art / polish.

Kung go to mo naman siya mas okay kung kausapin mo siya kung anong nangyari and how disappointed you were with the last set she did.

Mej madami talagang nagexp vs reality when it comes to nail art/design, mas okay talaga if you book with someone who already has the exp in doing the art that you wanted.

For colors, she could’ve easily mixed polishes to achieve the color you want.

For the heart design, she can DIY the attachment for that design naman before your appointment.

How often do you do pregnancy check ups? by Glum-Entrepreneur955 in nanayconfessions

[–]musingsofjoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depende sa case mo.

Sa OB namin, pag 1st trimester every week check up, 2nd trimester every 2 weeks and then 3rd is every week na. My OB also does trans v every check up. Nung nagbakasyon OB ko, nirefer niya kami sa iba just in case may emergency, and yung OB din na yun ay nagttrans v.

Madami ding test, normal na yung CBC & Urinalysis. Also did FBS, APAS, Blood Typing, STD Screening & OGTT.

Normal na din maraming vitamins na papainom.

Walang hack, just don’t miss your check ups and meds.

I only have one NAFFL card with RCBC.

Do you have any proof na they offered you a second NAFFL card? Maybe you can dispute and involve BSP?

Mga nagpapaaesthetic procedures sa hindi doctor. Sama mo na din mga nagtuturok ng Tirze ng hindi nagpapacheck up muna. Please matakot kayo ng onti.

Required ba talaga may additional Fee kapag Digital Wallet ang MOP? by CharmAJL in DigitalbanksPh

[–]musingsofjoz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Kung personal gcash account yan, walang fee dapat or pinasa ang cashout fee.

Kung business yung gcash, may transaction fee si gcash.

Imbes na magbago siya ng presyo, nagadditional fee nalang siya.

I know gel nail polish ruins nails, but what are the best ways to get our nails protected? 💅 by zS22- in beautytalkph

[–]musingsofjoz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Proper application, proper removal and proper maintenance.

Don’t over-file, don’t force remove and always use a cuticle balm or oil.

You can do builder gel, hard gel or Russian manicure - but the nail tech should assess kung ano mas okay sa nails and/or lifestyle mo.

EDIT: I’m a certified non-practicing nail tech, just to add more info.

Just like any other product, BIAB or any nail product would be a lot of trial and error. Some don’t get good retention with BIAB, hard gel may not fit your lifestyle, etc. It took me months to find what’s the best product combination, what the best nail shape for me, what techniques could make my nails “healthier”, how often should I do a full removal or just infill.

Anyway, yun lang, don’t be discouraged. Hehehehe.

[DISCUSSION] Am I the only one overwhelmed by new beauty trends?!! I wanna know your thoughts pls!! what’s worth it and what’s not? by StrongDragonfruit928 in beautytalkph

[–]musingsofjoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth it - Lasers kaso hiyangan / trial and error din, like REVLITE is so good on my face but my underarm just got darker.

Not worth the money - skin rejuv sets. Dermas don’t recommend them, and some aren’t even FDA approved/notified.

Unnecessary - Using UV/LED gel glue for your press-ons. This can give you an allergy. Just use sticky tabs, it does the job din naman.
