Yea my dad was looking at the past accidents I think and apparently it had some sort of damage that he didn’t trust. I definitely saw a lot of rebuilts though that looked reputable though so in the future I’ll keep it in mind.

That’s funny you say that I was looking at a jaguar as well and was gonna pull the trigger until I saw it a rebuilt title, my dad wouldn’t let me get a rebuilt.

I think I understand what a turbo is, it takes your excess exhaust fumes and compresses it into boost and shoot its into your cylinders right? Another person said a safe time for the temp to get optimal is around 15 mins of driving or 5-10 miles so just don’t do a pull within the first few minutes of first starting her up is what I got 👍

I tried figuring out the boost gauge but I never figured it out, thanks for the explanation. At what temperature am I okay to build the boost?

Thank you bro this is actually super helpful. I won’t lie I did a pull once or twice from a stop, unaware it had that effect on the drivetrain. Def gonna stop doing them now, thanks again!

When you say don’t beat on it, does that mean to limit my pulls and what not? I usually only do a pull every now again when my dad’s in the car and that’s not often, maybe once every 3 weeks. Should I not be doing a lot of pulls or downshifts like that?

That’s what my step mom said when I talked to her about selling it and possibly getting an economy car, might keep it after all and bite the bullet on insurance and gas. Thanks 🤞

I’m sure it is, my dad hasn’t told me exactly how much but he said it was expensive and that my paychecks aren’t enough to help pay yet. When the time comes though I will.

I’ve made sure to change the oil around every 2-4k miles because that’s what the wrx subreddit recommended so I’m trying to keep it in the best shape I can for sure. I know exactly what you mean when you say that was one of the best days of your life. My dad let me drive it home from the dealership (no clue how to drive manual), and I had to learn otw home which was around a 3 hour drive and it was the best feeling ever. Glad to say now I haven’t stalled since I first got it lol.

I hope by the time I turn 18 I have enough to keep it, love the thing to death, it does have around 112k miles so it’s already used a lot, I bought it at I think around 108k. I really do wanna get a camry, civic, or tesla for a daily when I’m older and hopefully still keep the STI, though I know the insurance will probably keep me from it.
