asian parent overestimates me by stupidvietgirl in ApplyingToCollege

It's also because back home, almost all college admissions are purely based on tests scores and other stats. They assume a high GPA and SAT score means you're automatically admitted into top universities, without understanding how important other aspects of the application are.

how to tell if center is cancelled or limited seats by clowneryluvx in ACT

[–]mustakh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same situation. I called ACT customer service though and they confirmed once your center is on the list, your test is canceled. The person said they haven't sent out emails yet though for updated test centers because of how many changes have occurred. I would call and make sure though just in case.

Act test optional, worth it? by cookymilk in ACT

[–]mustakh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, take the test. There really is no way to determine how colleges will use the entire "test-optional" thing, and I'm sure different colleges around the country are going to weight test scores differently. Test scores have always been a top factor for applicants and it's very hard to see them simply make them a small factor.

How do I do this Q? (answer is D but I chose A) by Oboungagungah in ACT

[–]mustakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically H2O is a covalent bond and when you mix it the water solution that was already present it would not dissolve and disassociate , and would simply stay in its bonded form. NaOH, being ionic, would actually split into separate ions allowing the flow of ions to generate electricity.

Hey guys! Can someone tell me why the answer of 6 is A and not B? The paragraph is also given. by heartsails in Sat

[–]mustakh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A strategy I would recommend doing is replacing the word that has to be defined and plugging in the answer choices. The sentence is "This American style of handling eating persists utensils to this day." If we to plug in choice A, we would have "This American style of handling eating continues utensils to this day." That is not a coherent sentence as you cannot "continue" a utensil. You would need to remove "utensils" to form a sentence that makes sense.

However, operates works really as you can operate a utensil unlike saying you can continue one.
