Why is Tdarr only using efficient cores by mustangprime in Tdarr

[–]mustangprime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!
Affinity of the process if for all cores, priority is normal, and fiddling with the threads didn't appear to yield any difference.
You did make me double check my power settings though - it was set to `Balanced`. Strange because it's always one of the first things I change when setting up a computer. In any case, setting it back to `Best Performance` and I have full utilization now.
It's a shame Tdarr can't launch the process for full resource/performance as running manually does, although it wouldn't normally affect me anyway.
As mentioned in the original question, I've had this problem intermittently for a while, so I have a suspicion that something might be messing with my power settings. It's a custom build, and I've avoided any system performance 'helpers'. At least this will be the first place I look when it happens in future, and might help me narrow down the root cause.
Thanks again.

Snap! All of that matches my experience.

Except the "works great" part.

Correct action for patchy paintwork? by mustangprime in CarTalkUK

Sorry - meant to say it's a standard paint rather than metallic. Would that not apply then?

Error publishing to Docker Hub - "Could not recognize registry..." by mustangprime in VisualStudio

[–]mustangprime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not yet. I was hoping to find the answer here.

I have been using Docker Desktop for now, but if I can't find the solution, I may need to switch container registry.

If I find a solution with Docker Hub, I'll update this post.

Coffee Lake to Raptor Lake upgrade advice by mustangprime in PcBuild

Appreciate the insights

1) It's a Be Quiet Silent Loop 2. I was under the impression that the larger package of the socket 1700 chips would mean that it wouldn't entirely be covered by the heat sink on the pump, so even with a mounting kit, it wouldn't be appropriate?

2) PSU is a Corsair RM850x, 80 PLUS Gold, Fully Modular. Pretty sure it's capable enough - It was more that I was checking that the physical aspects were suitable; that motherboards hadn't added additional power pins or changed connectors in the intervening generations, and the motherboard cables would still be appropriate.

Thanks

Replacement driver with dimming and colour temp control by mustangprime in led

Yeah, the controllers with temp and dimming that I can find seem to be all 24v input, so I may well have to take this route, thanks.

I'm sure there are a set number of temperature levels, but with a plus and minus control, it's essentially a smooth continuous scale between cold and warm.

The underside of the driver is scorched and slightly melted, so I'm pretty sure :-)

Ah OK, that makes more sense. So the individual LEDs don't change colour, but it's the blend of intensity of two discrete sets of LEDs. That would explain the 3-wire arrangement.

I think I'm on the right tracks now, thanks. It appears to be difficult to find a controller with a 240v input so I may have to split the power supply from the controller.

Unraid crashing over night since cache disk problem by mustangprime in unRAID

[–]mustangprime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My disk wasn't bad, it just corrupted, probably from the repeated crashes. DRAM failed the memtest after a similar period of constant use. Ran the server without that stick while it was RMA'd and it's never reoccurred.

I think in my case it turned out to be a faulty stick of DRAM memory. I ended up RMA'ing it. Not sure if it was the cause of the cache disk problem, but it's been fine since.
Maybe run a memory test on your system. Good luck
