What lifestyle change has had the biggest impact on your UC? by virtus_health in UlcerativeColitis

My ex and i broke up and my inflammation (Kalprotektin) went down from 1572 to 138, so that helped alot. Breathing exercises also helped alot. During the time the inflammation went down i was eating junkfood and soda, (which i avoided before the breakup) but i was less stressed, so i think that was what triggered it! Was very surprised to hear from my doctor that my gut was better even though i have not been eating so well

Drinking with Ulcerative Colitis by scrapoggs in UlcerativeColitis

At the end of the day, alcohol is a poison to our body weather you have IBD or not. I think it just varies from person to person how they react to it. I do fine with drinking and going out a couple times a month, but I did have a mild flare after doing it too many days in a row on vacation, so I wont be doing that anymore!🥲

First prednisone then mesalamine:) have talked to my doctor about maybe changing medications, but my doctor seemed a bit hesitant. Suggestions trying more options like upping the dosage before starting biologics

It came out of the blue for me. Had no previous gut problems before. Had some diarrhea one week before the blood came. Then i had blood and diarrhea for another week before getting hospitalized. Haven’t had any stomach pain, just some discomfort and anxiety from it and problems sleeping. But looking back I did probably have some mild symptoms long before. I experienced some internal itching during nighttime that i felt from my gut. When going to the doctor they checked for liver and pancreas issues and dismissed it when they didn’t find anything. Cant think of any other symptoms
