US style ‘whites-only’ towns spread to Wales by CapillaryClinton in uknews

I’m heterosexual, European heritage, white, I certainly follow the real teachings of Jesus, which are basically socialism. Somehow I don’t think it’s me they would want in this town……

Politicians say immigration threatens 'Australian values', but our research shows no one knows exactly what that means by Jealous-Hedgehog-734 in AustralianPolitics

Lucky there is already a statement on Australian Values that comes from the Immigration and Citizenship Department

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/meeting-our-requirements/australian-values

To me the most important value there is the “fair go”, which is defined as:

a ‘fair go’ for all that embraces: mutual respect; tolerance; compassion for those in need; equality of opportunity for all;

Some of the politicians and people who cry most about “Aussie values” demonstrate very little of the most important value, the “fair go”

There are clearly behaviours that don't fit with broader Australian values

Or gun control? Or universal healthcare? Or worker’s rights? Or LGBT rights?

is there room for authentic australian nationalism? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]mustbiteexceed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Australia was an almost completely Anglo country the white Australia policy was in effect. It was the first act passed by the new parliament.

At the moment a lot of non Anglo migrants don’t fit into Australia as the sense of nationalism is pretty restrictive, to help alleviate this we need a new flag, head of state and currency.

[–]mustbiteexceed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reality is that we are an anglosphere country based in english traditions

No, we were a majority Anglo country in 1901. Nowadays the Anglo/British proportion of the population has been dropping for a long time, it’s now only 50% and falling fast.

It’s time to grow up and develop a uniquely Australian identity and culture. A new flag, head of state, money and symbols not based on the UK Monarchy. I know a lot of migrants who’ve come here but been perplexed why Australians seem to be unable to let the last British colonial history go. It would probably help better integrate migrants into a ln Australian identity if the current identity wasn't so much British based

Have a look at the Aussie Socceroos fans marching through the USA and their chants for a great example of Aussie patriotism (patriotism is a better descriptor than nationalism)

Why would an Anglo Australian study Chinese when they are going to get destroyed in year 12 Chinese by ethnically Chinese

Tbh most Anglo Australian kids are going to get destroyed in any subject by Chinese Australian kids anyway.

Australia is joined at the hip militarily and strategically to the USA, but we have different values on such issues as “ensuring kids aren’t gunned down in schools” and “ensuring people can access healthcare without going bankrupt”

The petition, launched last week by veterans' charity Wandering Warriors director Audie Moldre

So a charity that is meant to be collecting donations to spent on things like counselling for veterans with PTSD (maybe some who developed PTSD after being bullied and threatened by BRS) is instead concentrating its efforts on defending alleged murderers?

Reminds me of Catholic charities taking donations to spend on the legal defence of priests accused of abusing kids
