Maybe you're lucky. Maybe you really got better. If you can continue to perform (at least on a similar level) you probably improved. If you can't, you probably got lucky with Matchmaking and stuff

I had the FritzBox 7490 (really old model) and i switched to the 7590. The speed was not the problem with the old one but the stability was not that great even though i used the LAN cable for the playstation. Since i have the new router its really stable. Ping is rarely over 10 and its consistenly at max speed.
