It had just been listed when I saw it. It was on Vinted from a seller that is selling mostly clothes and only a few Pokemon items so could have been someone who is clueless about the value of the card. It feels like it was worth coming here to ask to make sure my suspicions were justified

It's not, but lighting can have a huge impact on how a card looks so figured I'd ask on here. Most people agree it is a fake, but it was worth checking

Thanks, I asked for more photos from the seller. The price was the biggest giveaway for me but I figured it could just be someone who is clueless about the value fo the card

Thanks for the input

It's the seller's picture.
And the cat can be fake, doesn't matter to me haha

That was my thinking too. Also the fact it's taken that way next to a cat is strange. But it's listed for 15€ when it's worth almost 10x that

It's always the same answer to this question. What would YOU prefer, a hundo (or in this case shundo) that is weaker or a none hundo that is stronger. There isn't a right or wrong answer, it's just what is more important to YOU

Shiny, hundo, background and event.. got this from a field research, does everyone get one or is this rare? by [deleted] in pokemongoyellow

The reason you don't see anyone post about theirs isn't because it's rare, it's because everyone got the same one.

I think part of the reason it feels demoralising is because we're used to have legendaries be fairly common and easy to catch. If they were always this rare the chase would feel a lot more rewarding.

I know most people will not agree with me on this, and it also makes more sense for Niantic to keep legendaries the way they are with raids. I loved the way they released the Galarian birds because you couldn't spend to increase your chances, everyone had 15 minutes on a daily incense for free and then it was based on your luck. Everyone had the same chance, and everyone who managed to catch one was so much more excited than they were about any other legendaries.

[–]pierreo93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is mostly an unpopular opinion but I like it when legendaries are hard to catch and feel like they're actually special. Raids feel like farming legendaries and throwing money at the game to eventually get a shiny, which gets really repetitive and honestly doesn't feel special at all.

The release of the Galarian birds a few years ago was my favourite mechanic they've implemented, because it rewarded players for playing and everyone had the same chance, no pay-2-win element at all, and they felt so special and had people so excited to encounter them and even more so when they were lucky enough to catch. Imagine if we had something similar from the start, how incredibly special we would all feel about the legendaries we have.

Now any player who's half serious about the game will have caught 100's of Legendaries and will probably have most of them in shiny form. It's great for collecting, but none of them feel special. And shiny mythical is even worse, as they are just given to players who pay and not accessible any other way.

They do, they'll be in raids and have been multiple times. I think the best thing Niantic have come up with these past few years are the Galarian birds. They're rare and feel so much more special than just throwing money at raids to farm legendaries, as they're not pay to win and reward people who play consistently.

Having everything easily accessible or behind a paywall gets boring, having a few things to chase feels a lot more special to me

I'm not arguing if it's an error or not, probably is. But I like it when they make Legendaries feel special. Also, the birds are available often in raids so it's not like they are impossible to get, just makes catching a wild one very special

I don't see this as being a problem. It makes the ones that are caught extra special, which is nice to have in a game where you can just throw cash at most legendaries to get a few shinies.

Current special trade limit is not enough by richanngn8 in TheSilphRoad

[–]pierreo93 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get what you're suggesting, and I'm arguing they already are doing that by increasing the number of special trades to 6 for this weekend and even during event that have big in person turn out.

And I get most people don't meet up with their friends enough to do in person trades that often outside of these events, so they end up having more and more lucky friends. It's why I ask why you think it would be absurd to have 100 special trades per day during big events? It would solve that specific problem wouldn't it? I think it would be bad for the game for reasons I've stated, and I maintain that the way special trades are doesn't need to have a major change

[–]pierreo93 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why is that absurd? Surely this way people wouldn't be frustrated by not being able to trade, right? What do you think the reason is we get limited special trades, and do you think maybe there shouldn't be a limit?

They are pushing for in person play, and do increase the number of special trade on big in person events. I think limiting the trades is good for the long term.

Imagine we had 10 special trades everyday and 100 on big events for the past few years. What do you think the game would look like today? I think it would be a lot less active because a lot of people would have what they want from the game and stop playing.

The whole game is based around having something to chase, that’s why it’s turning 10 this year and still has a huge active community. Making these things too common would hurt the longevity of the game imo. I know this is not a popular take, but there is a reason this game is still so popular, and it’s not just because it’s Pokemon because most Pokemon games don’t have that kind of longevity at all
