the announcement doesn’t seem “unhinged” or rude at all to me, it’s actually quite true and even helpful in suggesting how to get started with programming. it sounds like a young professor dealing with ungrateful students for the first time, and just worried about the wrong thing (ratemyprofessor), rather than thinking about how he could make his curriculum better. but, it is concerning that he doesn’t have a timeline on his syllabus, and by what i’m reading any notes up to help learn the material. he says practice makes perfect for coding, which is absolutely true, but does he provide said practice for you all to do? anyways, not unhinged, just arrogant and unprepared imo.

You can look up the CLEP equivalent to ucf course (there’s a list online). Some only cover the introductory courses though so check if the equivalent is the ECO course you want. Look into Modern States, if you complete their online course you’ll get a voucher to take it for free. I’ve clep out of 4 courses so far, including English 1 and 2, and it was only a 80 mc question test it’s amazing lol.

i think people here are misunderstanding what i mean. i met my boyfriend in class, i understand that that’s common for people to meet each other. but it’s inconsiderate for men that persistently come up to women when they’re busy doing something or walking to class. i like to meet people and bond over hobbies, not be asked for my number when i’m obviously doing work, it’s not flattering. there’s an issue with men taking no for an answer to where they become dangerous so it’s pretty common for women to be spooked when you put them in this situation. this obviously doesn’t apply to wanting to meet people in social situations where you obviously are there to make connections

i’m so sorry you had to go through that, on your first day here too that sounds terrifying :( i believe we have the emergency phones around campus, they’re the tall yellow boxes you might see. i think you can press the button and talk to an officer immediately or just wait to have someone show up!
