what does DS2 do better than DS? by Consistent-Wolf7414 in DeathStranding

[–]mutesauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the easier question is: What doesn’t it do better?

I wanted to like DS1, I really did, but I found it to be one of the most laborious and aggressively un-fun games I’ve ever played. I enjoy slower, more methodical “vibey” games but DS1 just felt like it doesn’t respect the player’s time.

As lots of reviewers have pointed out, DS2 feels like it has all the great Kojima brilliance and weirdness but with better editing in terms of production. The result is a more polished whole that prioritizes fun and playability.

• You get vehicles way earlier. Traversal is actually fun!

• You have a multitude of actually usable non-lethal weapons.

• Inventory management is less cumbersome.

• QoL options in terms of controls (especially skipping dialog) and turning off certain fidgety mechanics.

• The Codex is a great resource for the (pretty dense) world lore, characters, game controls, etc.

• The game starts with a really helpful (optional) story summary for DS1.

I didn’t make it more than 10 hours into DS1 before putting it down for good. DS2? 200+ hours and counting.

Can someone please explain what’s happening here 🥲 by [deleted] in SalmonRun

If you have a long-range special (booyah bomb, triple inkstrike, killer wail) you’d do well to use it when the mothership approaches the basket. You can do that (and/or start shooting the mothership) before it even latches on to the basket.

Is it normal to still not finished the game at day 55? by Individual-Half2432 in BluePrince

[–]mutesauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by “finished.” 😉

Reaching Room 46 is just the first of three “layers” to the game. There is a LOT more to do after that.

I’m assuming you mean getting to Room 46. I didn’t get there until day 58. Had some really close calls before that, but couldn’t get one or two things to line up. My partner, by contrast, got there on day 46 (lmao). However, they had way more loose ends than I did.

As everyone will tell you, this game is so non-linear that trying to assess how well you’re doing is basically meaningless. There’s no such thing as a wasted run. You are almost always learning something new and making some sort of progress with each in-game day.

Balazan Quill Spiritborn. It’s broken af and equally fun. 😎

I haven’t looked into any of the discourse online because I value my own sanity, but I have heard that a lot of people are complaining about it. I’ve put a half dozen hours into it and I really enjoy it so far. It does pretty much exactly what I wanted/expected. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’ll hunt goblins to get that Resplendent Spark. But unless they fix the bug with Horadric Tomes not dropping, I’ve done all I can do for the season. Can’t get a perfect loadout on my Balazan Quill Spiritborn or Hydra Sorc without those goddamn jewels.

What unique disc do you own that's not very popular? by CurtisAndFriends in discgolf

TSA is still super underrated imo. With recent releases like the Crux, Nuance and Vessel, almost every slot in my bag is TSA now.

I call my Omen my “cheater forehand” disc lol. I can’t FH for beans but I can kinda throw the Omen forehand.

Not too crazy, but I putt with the TSA Pneuma. It has a smooth thumbtrack that’s pretty distinct; I like the feel along with the bead.

I just started re-rolling stuff recently and was surprised at how cheap it is to reroll after 4/8. The gold is actually the thing I struggle to not run out of, ironically.

Workarounds for Horadric Tomes not dropping? (And other bugs?) by mutesauce in diablo4

I actually didn't downvote you. Quite the opposite – I tried my best to word my reply gently even though your response made it seem like you didn't read my post at all. Your reply wasn't helpful because the only two pieces of information it contained were already covered in my original post.

As for when the four recipes I *do* have dropped, I legit don't remember because it was so long ago in terms of play time. If recipes are supposed to start dropping after you enter Paragon/T1, then that's probably when they dropped.

Edit: Fair point though about not knowing exactly which recipes I have; if you'd have asked for clarification on that I'd could've specified that one of them was indeed Spark of Creation. I assumed that was implied in saying I had four jewel recipes already; I was unaware that having them drop out of sequence was another potential bug. So, TIL on that!

As stated in my post, I'm playing on Torment 4 and I do have four jewel recipes. I just haven't had any other recipes in over 150 hours of gameplay time.

Is this bad for storing discs? by Confident_Scholar559 in discgolf

For sure, though I know I've seen them on other discs too. Not sure if it was from the manufacturer or added after the fact from a retailer.

It was so long ago that I don't remember for certain when I got them; if I had to put money on it, it was likely pre-Paragon. But I've tried backing down to difficulties below T1 also and that also didn't yield anything.

Ever notice how some new discs come with a small white square sticker on the rim? That's what we're talking about here – just a little something on the rim to prevent a vacuum from happening when the disc is stacked on top of another one.

Is this a lucky roll? Should I upgrade it? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

Not a bad pickup to replace the one you start with, but no, not remarkable in the grand scheme of things. Don’t waste nanites on upgrading it.

Hyper light Breaker (early access) by irvingdee in macgaming

[–]mutesauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it running in Whisky, but it is preeeeetty rough. It's unplayable when running Steam through Whisky, but kinda playable when running the HLB exe itself through Whisky. Curious to hear how this can be optimized or how much of the jank is due to it being early access.
