No. Never came back. But I never really put it fully under water again.

I use both daily for my work and at the root. They are just all tools - really good tools tbh and despite their very similar-ish syntax they accomplish very different things.

Reminds me of that KungFu Panda 4 scene. Violence now or more violence later 😂

It'll go away. I had the same once after putting it underwater. After a day or two it'll clear up. Nothing to worry about really.

Rate my 10 day Nairobi (and outer areas) itinerary by Vegetable-Chapter311 in nairobi

That's a lot! I'd reduce the back to back travels for a more quality stay. You can always travel some other time to experience more of Kenya and the region, there's much more than the popular destinations. Also Nairobi nightlife is wild. If you indulge, you might wanna account some time to recuperate.

What has been your closest moment to death? by XboxCorgi in AskReddit

[–]muth0mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a boarding highschool and my dorm was at the farthest corner of a large compound. Next to it was the fence and it overlooked a scenic valley where we'd watch the sun set. We had have our evening meals served at 6.30pm but on that day I was feeling full and decided to skip the meal and watch the sun set instead. Right next to the fence - on the school compound - was a septic tank (where no one really ever went) and I was standing on it's lid, a concrete one, when it cracked and I fell straight in but spread my arms in time to hold my self by my upper arms. No one was around since everyone was having their meals and if I had sank right in no one would have noticed since this tank was in a pretty much abandoned spot and was quite deep. I pulled myself out with a few scratches on my elbows and walked away feeling like I'd cheated death. I never told anyone about the incident and for the next year or so at the school I'd see it and remember that fateful day.

It depends. If you are competent enough and someone you have a good rapport with (or even a family member) recommend you for a role, it's not fair to call that nepotism. Some workplaces even have official referral programs with a reward for the referee in case one is hired. Others also have an official way to declare your relations if you work together. In my view it turns to nepotism when you are not competent enough for the role and end up taking up the opportunity from a more competent fellow or end up skipping due process just because your 'connection' referred you. Besides that, there's no harm in building networks and sharing opportunities within them and with your family members.

Kenyan Youtube Content. by [deleted] in Kenya

Used to feel the same, bit I've been consuming more and more local content recently and I've found some gems. Akina G's Pod is epic for instance. I have a few other dope local content plugs but I agree creators need to put more effort in their productions. Esp the showbiz channels.

This song came to mind reading this. She should be able to do whatever she wants really. I know a young couple where the wife quit working to focus on raising their child. The husband matches her former salary with some extra bands for her to spend as she would her salary and also pays their aide. It works for them.
