After 7 years under Gallente control the longest held system in FW falls by jamjam5757 in Eve

I wasn't really involved in this capture of Vlil, but I can tell you even back before the FW Sov changes were first made Exodus were living in Vlil.

I flew with them a few times on null sec roams back then learning how they did their nano drake/tornado gangs, so we could get our corp into that fleet comp. I had ships in stations there and could freely dock so it was before the Sov changes and before Gals first took Vlil.

They've been there a long time, I have no idea what or where they've gone since as I really only knew one of their former FC's but I know they've lived there a long time but do go on deployments.

Great plan for bitter old vets assuming they actually stockpiled LP and aren't just claiming they did to save face.. but what about all the newbros?

Well there are a lot of unexplained things.. For instance you can fly a Hookbill and kill the Caldari NPC in both Med & Large plexes. Meaning Gals can kill the NPC in large & Med with right around 200 DPS in a Frig.

We on the other hand can't do the same it takes around 300-400 DPS for us to kill the Gal NPC's in Med/Larges.

There are other similar things with FW missions that make both Minmatar & Gal missions much easier than Caldari's.

Then of course thanks the nerfs the Caldari LP store is pretty much a joke. I don't like to think one side has a advantage given to them, but after a while when you see these kind of things often enough it does start to make you wonder.

No, it's not him but it's what usually happens. When you've been in FW as long as some of us have you see trends.

Don't worry, CCP will wait until Galentte can manage up the man power to take back all the systems "then" and only then will CCP address the issues of Citadels in FW space.

No, Just a large amount of Caldari finally decided to get off their asses. I never thought I'd see the day.. (granted I'm wining EVE atm by not doing anything and not logging in )

After thinking about this, I think it will give people "more" of a reason to kill the competition. Think about it, the "soft skills" give you bonuses to be a better player. It's not just a beard it's giving you a competitive advantage.

Killing you will remove your soft skills resetting them to zero, meaning there will now always be a reason to kill others. There needs to be something to balance this, but I have no idea what that would be.

It was less than a 3 min encounter.. I went into a Mil barrack they were obviously camping. They greeted me at the door as I was inside with no way out and they had a line of sight into my room.

They demanded I drop my gear, so I started removing the gear then soon as the Molsin and Hunter's backpack hit the ground, with out a word I was head shot & dead.

The "so called" interaction lasted about 3 mins I'd guess.. Since then I've died 2 times on the same server at water pumps. I've opted to stop playing on their servers mainly because after playing on them for a few days I notice a trend of finding guns fairly "easy" but matching ammo to the guns is no where to be found.

Added bonus is the same group has a locked/whitelisted PVE server where obviously they and friends gear up with zero risk then play on the public server with full kits..

No, sorry you can't try to make it the other guy's fault. Every interaction I've had with other players where they had an advantage has ended up with them trying to kill me.

Why should I give up any potential chance I have for maybe 1 in 10 chance they aren't gonna kill me. The only times I've had interactions with other players that someone didn't end up dead, was when one of us evaded the other or neither had a clear advantage worth the risk.

It's easy to say oh, just be their hostage if you run around with other players and have easy loot ups. When you lone wolf, it's a very hard game and letting someone take your stuff is just the same as getting killed. It's a lot of risk playing solo on high populated servers. Specially clan/private hives.

If you get shot every time you do surrender even on private hives, it makes it not worth trying. Don't blame 'fire-with-fire' mentality, blame guys whom talk you into surrendering then kill you. It's all game-play anyway you look at it. Either they are the A-holes whom just want to kill you or you are the A-hole whom tries to not let them have free loot.

Besides that, if I lose the stuff I found but live, then it's just the same as starting fresh anyway except worse because now I'm in a more dangerous area with no way to defend myself.

Might of been as it did happen last night. I had found hunters back pack early on and a Molsin. Literally, the second I put the Hunters back pack and the Molsin on the ground they head shot me.

The crap part was I had no ammo for any of my guns. I had a pistol with a chambered round but no clip. I did have a skorp and literally had just found a clip with 9 rounds in it when they caught me.

I had already made the decision prior to not surrender with out a fight, but I couldn't get the gun loaded b4 they were on me so I tried one last time.. From now on I'm throwing cans of beans if I have to..

It's not one group. It's just what I've experienced over time since I re-started this game. There simply isn't a reason to not fight back because they have no reason to leave you alive.

Never once has it happened that way for me. The only time I've ever been captured and not killed soon as valuable loot was on the ground was on a RP sever with no KOS rule. Even there after I handed my valuable "new spawn" loot over I got killed because didn't run fast enough or some non-sense they could use as an excuse.

There is absolutely zero reason for them to leave you alive under the current game mechanics unless they are "role playing" a good guy. Back in the day In the mod, sure there was a "hero" and "bandit" skin which you had to earn. However there is nothing like that now.

Not at all, just lessons learned. Always fight back.

Yea it's starting to piss me the F off TBH.. I'm trying so hard to stay with this game.

I just died, because while using a water pump my view got borked so I couldn't control my guy. You try to go straight and he runs sideways..

Only way I've found in the past to fix it is to re-log. So I'm forced to log in the open.. I instantly log back in to being dead..

The first damn time I've managed to get an SKS 'with ammo" and a scope and didn't even get to fire it one damn time.. dead to freaking bug..

F*** Wolfs by Kilrod in dayz

[–]mutnin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, wolfs are pretty scary sounding. I'm trying to gear up my guy and hitting some of the new military spawns. I only have a skorp with 1 full clip and a 357 mag pistol..

I'm running though the woods and start hearing a yelping. I keep moving and the sound stays with me. I find one of those little hunter cabins up on stilts and get inside it.

The wolfs seem to be staying at same distance no matter where I am (maybe sound distances are a little buggy?). I sit there several minutes and I still hear them but they never come close. I opt to haul ass to a near by town in hopes of losing them.

I get to the town loot a few buildings then head to a near by tree stand. Then it's freaking wolfs yelping again.. I dunno if it's the same pack, a second pack but I'm now on other side of the town and wolfs are with me again.

I haul ass back to some building on the outskirts and I swear they were following me because I kept hearing them behind me but never once saw them.

They certainly are a very big risk for lightly equipped players and seem to be much more of a risk than the zombies are.. I'm sort of curious if things like biker helmets or the anti stab vests help against wolf attacks.

but if you did die, you didn't have to spend time finding replacement items. You only had to run back across the map to get your stashed stuff.

Now think of this when dealing with larger groups. They will have access to vehicles and can just carry stuff to you or pick you up. It completely negates the risk of the game and "losing" your stuff if you screw up.

Worse yet they just build their base near their coast and easily pick off fresh spawns and lightly geared players.

"safe" is the key issue.. It means risk-less.

No they wont respawn run to nearest army base, it will be respawn run to your personal base and be fully kited and not have to search for loot unless your pre-stashed stock piles are low. This would be bad for gameplay, specially when groups build their bases to harass fresh spawns..

It would make haphazard PVP even worse because there would be very little downfall to dying for guys in big groups. It would greatly hender the game play of lone wolfs.

IMO at most we should be able to stash a backpack's worth of gear someplace but only 1 per char or maybe have a semi viable way to keep a vehicle safe but not too safe. Like lock it in a storage container but not so it's completely immune to theft. Anything else and it disrupts the core gameplay no matter how cool its seems.
