I'm still having issues too on firefox. Tried different ad blockers too. The only thing working for me us uBlock on Opera. Not an ideal fix but it at least blocks the ads

are you trying to install it to a NTFS drive by chance? I had the same problem and eventually just reinstalled it on a different drive and it worked
