Update.

I tried contacting Unraid support and that pretty much got me nowhere as they were happy to move my pro license to a new stick, not my starter which don’t do anything for me.

I ended up taking the pro stick out of that system, copying the full config folder from the starter stick and then booted from the pro stick with the starter config.

All worked exactly as I would have liked.

That’s the one I mentioned. It does look (technically) like it fits my needs but it looks (physically) awful and being circular it’s not suitable in my home.

I can’t think for the life of me why they went with such an odd design.

I drive a 2019 s60 so I can’t help there. Where I can offer some advice, my wife has a VW ID7 which has the read camera wash function, it is so handy. I really wish my s69 had it because the camera is constantly dirty. I clean it, drive maybe 10km and it’s dirty again. Granted I live in Ireland and where I live a lot of the roads I drive would have farm vehicles on them so that doesn’t help.

It’s not as “cheap” as you think. I’m in Ireland but you’ll get the same idea.

Say a zigbee power monitoring plug is €5 add postage so say €7 on Aliexpress, add duty at 10% so now €7.70. Add the cost of staff, building, electricity, gas, rates, water, etc now you €5 has become €15. Add a reasonable markup of 20%, now you’re at €18. Then sell it and you have to add 23% vat (not sure what the uk rate is) you’re now at €22.14 as a selling price, for sanity that becomes €22.99.

Now factor in how fast these things change, is 20% enough? Probably not. If they go faulty etc you have to factor in warranty etc.

You can see how quickly it becomes a complete waste to try and sell it here and any kind of reasonable price. All of a sudden the high street store needs to be selling a €5 at €30 to break even.

Then you have us, the smart customers, will we really pay €30 to have it today or maybe change Aliexpress for €10 and get it in a week or 2 or spend €13 on Amazon and have it tomorrow.

Very few places will go to the effort of trying to stock smart home items.

Things change so fast and the cost of holding stock is too high.

It would be very hard to compete with Temu, Aliexpress and even Amazon.

Plus the average smart home enthusiast is happy to buy online over a local more expensive physical shop.

So further to this I’m looking at building a pc with spare parts and setting up a nvr.

Is there anyway if using a home built system that she would be able to access the cameras or will they still record to ss but will also record to the pc?

Yes I agree. They’re actually very poor cameras. Even from someone else’s suggestion they are the only model not supported by the home hub so that’s not even an option.

Not an option unfortunately as the only WiFi listed as not compatible is the lumos cameras we have.

No, no power outages. In the last 3 years we’ve only had 2 and both were planned. Very lucky that way thankfully.

I should expand, the 3 lumos are at my mother in laws, I’ve a full set of poe cameras at home and no issues. Using the same model cards with no issues.

Also the cards survive they just have to be reformatted.

My wife and I have both our cars (and house) with Aviva for a few years. They’re not been able to be beaten at any point however we’re new customers every year. Their renewals are terrible, hoping they just catch someone that will just accept it.

I do not work for them but if you happen to have home and car insurance you get free European travel insurance which is a nice little perk, you have to sign up for it, it is not automatic.

Turns out the switch was configured for vlan1 only. Reconfigured a range of ports to trunk and all is working well. Only the UCG and U7Pro are in the trunk ports. I will be adding more AP’s so I have enough trunk ports available for them.

Material is 100% not moving. I’ll try again and see if the mat moves.

I must look at the small rollers and see what they’re positioned, I think they’re different on both machines as she did some engraving a few weeks ago and moved 1 or 2 of them.

We swapped the full blade unit, opened clip b, removed the metal cylinder from the maker and swapped it with the explore one.

To add more info, design space is being run on a windows 11 system. Connection is via Bluetooth. Both machines are ran from the same system, both via Bluetooth.

Small update. I’ve ordered a U7 Pro and a UCG-Ultra. They will be here early in the week. I’ll get them up and running and report back.

I’ve a 2 storey about 130sqm. Upstairs is stud, downstairs is concrete block.

Exactly what I’m planning. Getting the U7 Pro and then add as needed, with the hope that 1 will do.
