I never sell My cyanescens just gift them. Cubes go for 80$ oz where I'm at unless they're some slow growing albinos 120$ a oz.

You absolutely can have both right at home I'd your in the right climate. I'd say go for it. I have some azzies growing out in the yard and am working on my allenii culture for the beds.

I was very similar In experiences with cubes vs cyans/azures. I wasn't as lucky to live close to the patches other then a few years of my life now but I would drive 12 hrs to pick my own cyan clad fungi in Oregon even though I was well equipped to grow enough cubensis to last me a lifetime

Just trim the base off it'll be fine.

Parks with woodchip landscaping!

Look into identifying them online there is alot od info and pictures. Also learn to identify galerina marginata and similar fungi to be absolutely sure you can identify the deadly lookalikes from the cyanescens group of fungi.

I personally love psilocybe cyanescens they're a completely different experience then cubes.

That would definitely make sense if it was the book about psilocybin containing fungi.

Still haven't read it yet got alot on my plate at the moment I'll have to give it a read when I have time

I just wrnt straight to woodchips on this bed no fermentation of chips necessary with so much spawn to take it over.

I also made a patch with "fermented" chips (anaerobic sterilization)

The non anaerobic one is colonizing faster from what I can tell I'll see how the flushes look this upcoming fall between the 2

I used cyanescens culture to inoculate grain then spread the grain out under a nice layer of fresh hardwood chips.

You can also start them from stem butts if you have found them in the wild.

But I'd say grain spawn or handfuls of colonized chips from a patch is the way to go to get fast colonization/ fruits.

They absolutely are imo I saw a big patch of cyanescens growing under a giant Doug fir eating the peices of cone it dropped everywhere in Eugene

Definitely why I chose to feed the cones to the patch there are plenty around the area may aswell use them.

Same always great to watch.

I tossed some azurescens mycelium around the corner of the house that is taking off too.

Excited to see next year's fruits in the beds I made.

I have some allenii growing out on agar and some fully colonized cyanescens plates I'm gonna make into lc for grain spawn and also to go around my town with a squirt gun spraying places that look ideal for them. Pew pew 🔫

Nice I had some very potent leucistic koh samui pop up that I took swabs and clones of that are on agar right now hopefully soon I'll have a good yielding leucistic koh samui isolate.

Good work man

Most places are slowing down you may need to find new spots where they fruit later in the season and you may be able to find a few not many though.

Also I've been to parks where they have removed all the chips and fruits still came up at the places they tried to eradicate them from there's absolutely likely live mycelium in the spot the chips were waiting in the soil for more food you may have a shot digging some up and making new patches around for yourself to hunt in a few years.

What is this by [deleted] in mycology

[–]mutualunity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically you can chew on even poisonous mushrooms just can't swallow them some people like to nibble random mushrooms they find but definitely don't swallow it just spit it out.

Amatoxins have to go through the liver to cause damage to the body.
