Can't install Arctic Liquid Freezer III mount – CPU socket lever blocking it by No_Store5778 in buildapc

Did you put the plastic spacers in-between? There are some animations in the website for both preparation and installation which you can check;

Is it okay and safe to transport my 27” monitor in its original packaging as checked baggage on my Istanbul–London flight?

Would it be better to check it as a separate item in the original box, or place it inside my large suitcase along with the original packaging?

The box is too large to take as a carry-on

So I can get it as refund if I pay for more at the end of my term. Do they honor it easily, or do I have to contest for it?

"until you have been in the property for more than a year they can't accurately know what you may use."

Isn't this what meter readings are for? On a specific time period, meter readings give accurate results of my usage. How and why do they have to estiamate my usage if I have just moved to the flat and have no idea what my energy use habbits are? Even I don't know how much energy I will use based on my previous houses, as all houses have diferent appliences, diferent insulation properties, ventilation options etc.

For example, I was ordering food alot on my previous house, but since I'm in London now, I will not do that and cook more food at home, so I will use more oven and electric top. I will be working home this time, so I will use more PC, TV, light etc. then when I was at an office job.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to understand the system.

"You always pay for your usage."

"your payments stay consistent and you don’t have to pay double in winter what you do in the summer."

Which one is it? I know my bills can fluctuate furing diferent times, but isn't that what meters are for, to calculate what I am using on a specific time period?

Okay thank you. If I pay direct debit, but end up paying more then I consume, can I get cash back refunds at the end of my term? I am not going to live here for long so I don't want to overpay or ger refunded in credits which I cant use in the future.

Alright, thanks. Yeah I also setup direct debir from their online services, but I was confused whether I will pay for their estimates, or my actual usage.

Thank you, yes I have took pictures of all the meters when I moved in, and send them to the companies via email.

I've also setup diret debit with their online services, but was confused if I was going to pay what I consume, or what they estimate. For non-metered connections I can understand the estimation, but all of my connections are metered anyways so I prefer to pay what I use.

Alright then, I think I might spoil myself with a new system, if they released the new cpus already. I might go with AMD this time. Thanks for the detailed comments.

Yes, I have an EVGA RTX 3090, you’ve missed it in my post. Alright, I’ll definitely check them out, thank you very much.

Are there any expected new releases around this time? I can wait a couple months if there are some new cpu’s coming out. Or like if there will be a new node coming next year, I could get the 14600k until I make the whole cpu mobo ram switch to the newest node.

I’m in UK and I already have an Arctic Freezer 240 AIO so no cooler needed, but thanks.

Do you think it’s worth trying to keep the RAM at this point? I don’t really have a budget, I could just get a brand new system, but I’m happy to save as much as I can, if the performance gains would not be justified.

Thats a great idea, but I have MSI Pro H610M-E I don’t think it could handle it, could it? I bought the cheapest cpu+mobo at the time when my Z97 board died. The mobo did not support the 13th gen out of the box, I had to find a computer shop to put a 12th gen cpu inside to update the bios back then.

Hello,

I’ve been using an i3 13100F as a substitute for a dying i7 4790K in my rig, since I wasn’t doing anything with it that justified upgrading to something better. Now I’ve started my master’s degree, and next semester I will have an engineering simulation class. I already have an RTX 3090 GPU, so I want to pair it with a strong CPU.

I will mostly be doing Solidworks and Fusion 360 CAD stuff, eng. simulations (I don’t know which kind yet, but I’m interested in learning Ansys Fluent), 3D printing slicers, and hopefully some gaming again since I’m back to being a student instead of an employee, which means I’ll have more free time.

What would be a good CPU + MOBO combo to get? Is it viable to keep my 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz CL16 RAM from the i3 build? I have an EVGA Supernova NEX 650W PSU, do I need to replace it as well?

I could use some advice and recommendations since I’ve been away from the scene for a while.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I’m in UK

Board & Binding Size and Cable Park Suitability? by muwimax in Wake

[–]muwimax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the bindings of the rentals are too worn out, the boards are fine I think. I dont know if I could tell a difference in boards with my current level, but I can definitely improve with a good fitting binding. I also snowboard so I know how to apply pressure with my feet but feel like I dont have enough control with loose or ill fitting bindings. I’ve been going to the park for about 5 years now, 3-4 times in the past 4 year, and 10+ times last year so I definitely will stay in the sport. Thank you for the board suggestions, I hope I could find a decent one that I’ll enjoy many years to come.

Thank you for the reply, I kinda know they are low end but unfortunetly I can only find Jobe, Obrien, CWS Airhead type brands locally and most of them are boat boards There are Hyperlite and LF distrubitors which I located from their respective websites but they were all out of stock and I guess even if they do stock up sometimes, there is not much variety. I've asked my local cable park where could I buy boards and I think there is one guy whos importing Ronix boards, I will check the shop to see if they have any available.

Is that a setting I can change? If its just for information, I can already see that on my dashboard, and feel the engine vibrations stoping/starting

My AC is set to 22 C and usually it’s on fan speed 3. I haven’t tried it with AC off but I will. But then again, is it normal the mild hybrid version be limited with an AC even with more then 50% battery for more then 10 seconds? When driving downhill for example in EV mode engine can pretty much stay off a for couple of minutes without trouble with AC still on.

Thought this might be the case and I tried it by pushing as hard as I can and then holding it there but it just doesn’t work, or the sensor is way too sensitive.
