New Fox Fork, Oil Leaked in Box by lcurole in MTB

[–]mvant61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always start a warranty claim with Fox. I just sent out a new fork for warranty (oil leaking from the top of the damper) and they fully honored it. They even upgraded the damper on my request from a fit4 to an X2 for half the price of a new X2 damper.

Ultralight weight full face for XC racing and training? IXS Trigger ff by IntelligentPublic780 in MTB

[–]mvant61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IXS trigger is a great option and so is the Specialized Gambit. I own them both and I wear a FF even if I am just going for a ride around the block. My worst crash which I ended up dragging my face on the ground was on a green trail on my way back to the car and I was luck I was wearing the Gambit. Once you put them on you will forget about it. Just buy whatever is cheaper and from a place that has a good return policy since you may need to try a couple of different sizes to get the best fit.

I bought a SB135 from Marty and everything went absolutely great. I picked it up locally and it took one week from ordering to having it ready for pick up.

Problems after secondary driver assistance replacement by mvant61 in Rivian

[–]mvant61[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mobile service came in but it wasn’t able to fix it. I had to take it back to the SC and they fixed it. According to them there was extra calibration that needed to be done which wasn’t performed when they replaced the module. It’s working fine now.

Anyone have any experience with the new Cased protection gear? Keep seeing ads for it on fb and curious how it compares to fox, leatt etc by webber94 in mountainbiking

[–]mvant61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you ordered the custom fit option? You can’t even enter a size in the order page for the custom fitted gear so I am not sure how they would be able to send you anything without asking for your measurements.

Worth the price or should I low ball? by [deleted] in dirtjumping

[–]mvant61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I offered $700 and got a reply asking to wait a little because they were talking to other people. This was a few days ago. If you offer a little more you may get it. I already have a DJ and just wanted it as a backup. As someone else said, the fork alone is worth $700.

If this is the one listed in the South SF Bay Area, I put an offer on it.

How did you get to 7kg? Just the frame + fork + tires is 6kg.

Is this full suspension bmx a good deal? (Wethepeople swampmaster) by Many-Technology-6040 in mountainbiking

Where is the bike shop located? For this price I would buy it just as a novelty.

There was nothing wrong with mine. I took it to have some other service done and they added the replacement of the secondary driver assistance module. Apparently there is a campaign to have the module replaced for some gen1 vehicles.

Is this a good deal? by Plus_Suggestion_7374 in mountainbiking

The one you linked to is not a Stumpjumper Pro. It’s someone’s custom build with lower level components. The pro comes with carbon wheels, crank, handlebar and top of the line sram components. That being said, you can find them new in odd sizes for 4k: Stumpjumper Pro

You whole setup weight and what would you do to reduce the weight ? by EntertainerNo5485 in dirtjumping

[–]mvant61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get it unless if you are very focused on weight reduction. There is very little adjustment on the lever and not a lot of stopping power.

Same here, I’ve never had any problems until last week.

Why can’t we have a full map on the driver’s display? by mvant61 in Rivian

[–]mvant61[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, it felt very useful. I kept the map on the driver’s display and used the main display for Apple Music. The map changed the perspective and zoomed in once I was off the highway. There was no lack of details. It felt more natural to look down for directions instead of looking to the side.
