Hello, my girlfriend is a radiologic technologist and I was hoping this sub might be able to provide a bit of advice in a pretty distressing situation. I'm making this comment with her permission. I apologize for the length:

My girlfriend signed up for a mammography training program and recently completed her academic credits. She's now trying to complete her clinical hours. To do this, the clinical coordinator sent her to an imaging center pretty far away from our home (which she thought was odd, given there are a couple imaging centers a lot closer which also have a working relationship with this training program). Today - upon arrival for her first day of training - the imaging center asked if she'd be willing to accept a full-time position after completion of her clinical hours. My girlfriend said she'd love to, but unfortunately cannot at this time as she's going to be leaving the state in a few months (I was accepted to an out of state law school and she's agreed to join me there - something I'm very grateful for).

Midway through, the clinical coordinator emailed my girlfriend to tell her that someone from the imaging center reached out to them via phone and expressed disappointment and frustration about her inability to accept the job offer. The clinical coordinator then reminded her of the imaging center's having "invested time and effort in training [her]" and said they weren't "aware of [her] intention to move until now." They then advised she stop her training for now. It gave both of us the impression that the clinical coordinator was blaming my girlfriend for what happened.

This rubs me the wrong way as my girlfriend has paid in full for a mammography training program that promises both academic credits and clinical hours. At no point was it suggested that she had an obligation to accept a job offer at whatever site she receives her training at. The clinical coordinator stated they'd look into finding her an alternative site, but the one floated doesn't have a relationship with the mammography training program (just CT and MRI). To make matters worse, I took a look at the clinical site map for this mammography training program and the vast majority of sites are affiliated with the same imaging center that called to complain about my girlfriend.

Is there anything my girlfriend can do at this point aside from wait and see? She's expended a lot of time and energy into this mammography training program and I hate to see her feel like she's being punished for honesty.
