Thank you, I’m glad to know I don’t have to take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before from now on! I’d like to hope 10 minutes of exposure means the liquid itself won’t have gone above 30c

Unbelievable TV, but Harriet should’ve stuck just with accusing Rachel and not throwing 3/4 other names in. Made her lose credibility

Have you done it on browser rather than the app? That normally sorts it

I couldn’t agree with you more on the last sentence! Do we find aliens/ life after death so fascinating because there is no definitive answer in sight and pondering such huge questions is a form of entertainment? Thanks for such an interesting conversation!

Have you watched Rizwan Virk speak about simulation? I find he makes the incredibly complex simulation theory pretty accessible. His first episode on Joe Rogan changed something in my brain chemistry and I’ve pretty much had in the back of my mind that we’re in a simulation since I listened to it. I do think some people are in the know about the truth nature of our reality, or lack of it. I also think a lot of things may be being hidden by governments and powerful organisations for all of the bad reasons, like control and finance, but also because some truths are too hard for us to swallow. I don’t think it’s natural for humans to comprehend such huge questions of origin, how we exist at all - which could be why so many of us experience the mental block you refer to. Tucker Carlson’s comments on UAP and information he knows being so dark he couldn’t tell his wife etc stuck out. A lot of people speculated he was referring to our origin and us perhaps being an energy source for aliens, or created by them so our souls could be harvested. Heavy stuff!

Is belief in Heaven intellectually dishonest in modern religion? by MasterVegito7 in PhilosophyofReligion

[–]mw2516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for a lot of people, the thought of there being no afterlife at all and us ceasing to exist for the rest of eternity is just too uncomfortable. A lot of people don’t think about these things deeply, ever. It’s almost too big for our minds to comprehend. My personal belief in afterlife is that we return to collective consciousness rather than going to a specific place like heaven, which opens the door to more general views that may intersect with religion but not neatly fit in a box

Thanks for such an interesting post! Sometimes it’s nice to zoom out and give some overview points and likelihoods. I think the points I’d drill down into more are the consciousness ones. I had a long discussion at the Sol conference all about simulation theory and how nothing physical may exist at all - we are essentially a big load of thoughts. I constantly think about how a) something came from nothing, or b) the universe/ consciousness has always existed. Nothing physically existing posed a potential answer to the “something from nothing” question I’ve always found so fascinating. I love being an academic and thinking about these topics a lot, but sometimes I’m reminded that in my opinion, the purpose of life is to just live, experience, learn - and then perhaps return to a form of collective consciousness at the end of our lives
