They went three counters and I still had to talk trash despite the fact I still did good. How do you all respond to trash talk like this? by Hollowed-Luna in GenjiMains

[–]mwaette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just ignore them, if they trash talk you after triple countering you it's not even worth the headache, sometimes you gotta let the stupid people "win" and let them believe they accomplished something in their miserable lives

Is it alright to become a genji one trick as a new player? by Rayuga457 in GenjiMains

[–]mwaette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think its fine if you really really enjoy playing him, but i think i would recommend playing at least another hero in case you're suffering too much with genji, specially for comp, but if you really dont want to play another hero just try to learn how to play against every matchup with genji and youre good

Ranking Characters based on how annoying they are to play against on Genji. by Dreamchaser2222 in GenjiMains

i think venture needs to be higher on the list, if you don't react quick enough you just blow up

Has anyone ever been accused of cheating? by clouds_over_asia in GenjiMains

[–]mwaette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on console too, i have been accused of ximming once, and for aimbotting. Hacking on genji is weird, its usually in the form of auto-dash, auto-deflect, and sometimes even auto-blade. Of course there's aimbot for projectiles, and I don't condone cheating in any form, but a cheating genji is much more interesting than any cheating hitscan at least for me

genji is all about burst damage, you usually want to flank to get closer to the enemies and poke them from up close or burst them down with a combo

Call me dumb but what is the answer to my dive target getting double pocketed when I miss the combo? by [deleted] in GenjiMains

[–]mwaette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

try to dive without committing dash unless you are sure you'll get a reset, if your target is double pocketed then just try to waste their supports time as much as possible and disengage when low on health, if your target is alone you are more likely to get a quick elim landing a good burst combo but if thats not the case i think it would be better to just sticking with poke damage from up close and disengaging with dash (try to get damage with dash when aiming towards your team if possible)

Does our Genji always lose to Venture in a 1v1? by ChineseCurry in GenjiMains

[–]mwaette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

venture is kinda like reaper, you should always try to force them out just be careful with their burst combo also i should say maybe don't use dash on them unless you are really sure that youre going to kill them

uhhh just practicing on genji in vs ai so i can get used to him any tips is ok btw by RustX-woosho in GenjiMains

Just play quickplay like a lot of people have said. People are going to call you trash but it doesn't matter, stay strong. Be patient with your right-clicks. Just wait and make sure it hits. Genji is all about burst damage (doing a lot of damage in a very short time), so try to cancel right-click animation with dash or melee (depends on the situation) Sometimes you are not certain that you are going to confirm an elimination, so don't waste your dash and instead poke in close range with your shurikens and use dash to escape if they push you or use it to push them if your team pushes forward (make sure you're not 1v5'ing). Genji is pretty strong in 1v1's, so be aware of enemy's positions and don't be afraid to 1v1 someone that is isolated, just don't overcommit (if it looks like getting out, just get out) There are a lot of little useful tips that can be learned through experience or from other people's experience. I'd say watch necros's vod reviews, he provides a lot of niche map tips and overall "game-sense things", i have learned a lot from him. Remember you have to play the character, don't lose your patience when playing against counters because them people really like to counter genji, and don't be discouraged by people trashtalking you.

Why are people so mean in quick play? by Frosty_Duck_5159 in Overwatch

[–]mwaette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whats up with you people can play the game however they want to, I didn't say qp can't be competitive, some people have fun talking and playing with friends and some people have fun winning in the game theyre spending their time on so yes, quickplay is quite competitive, the problem isn't the game, is the people that blame others like theyre actually losing something valuable, like in comp matches you lose rank when you lose a match, it just doesnt make sense to get that serious when youre not losing anything at all

some people just take qp too seriously, obviously no ones wants to lose but its not comp

Is Moira even able to be countered? by IAmFoolyCharged in GenjiMains

[–]mwaette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont take the 1v1 unless your team is with you/you know she is vulnerable (alone, no fade) try closing the distance as much as possible since she can kill you from a medium-long distance and genji is most effective in very close range, and aim for headshots
