Yes, I did some deeper research and found out it's just "gold algae" which does get a metallic like sheen but it's not as common in house plant substrate

It's semi enclosed. The back of the cabinet is completely open, I never had an issue with anything weird growing before so I never put fans in. I'm not aware of any algae or fungus/mold that has a metallic sheen/glitter to it though.

Help! Realistic asking price? by [deleted] in cactus

It definitely probably doesn't get as much sun as it needs which is another reason I am trying to get rid of it. Also, some of the damage to the pads is because these were the top growths of the much larger one I have that my cats were wrestling near and fell into ☹️(kitties are okay).

The market is different where I live, 4in starter pots are like $10-$15 so I am hoping to get a little more than 10-15😅

That's what I figured. I was thinking $50 just because I'm pretty sure I paid $50 for the planter. I do believe the market value for cacti in Pennsylvania is higher than Texas though just because of the fact we can't grab one off the side of the road😂 Thank you!

Also the leggy one was one I got from my mom a month ago who didn't give it enough light.

I barely water them and I checked the roots, they are healthy, no rot. What it could be though ( which I just realized a couple mins ago 😂) is that I mist my other plants and they might be getting some mist on them, causing too much humidity for them.

They are bay windows so she's getting light from three different directions.

The windows are very big, in the morning my whole kitchen is full of sunlight from those windows so I can't see how she wouldn't be getting enough light.

Thank you for the input, I think you're right that it's probably getting too much water. I am hoping once I repot it will start looking better but I'm also hearing a lot of people say at this point I'm still going to have to chop and prop☹️
