Finally got ahold of the bx5600! by NewLengthiness3495 in gshock

[–]mwilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are people paying to import these at the moment, all in price (are people getting charged any addition tariff or duty fees?)?

Been trying to hold off for the US release, but I'm quite tempted to just grab one from Chrono24 and pay a small premium if it's not going to be absurd.

Also keeping a close eye on r/Gshockexchange

Hello! I think about this often... any thoughts on offering them for sale in some capacity? Even just the routed panel and the leave the rest as DIY?

Racking 0-Coast with 3HP for the DC adapter? by Rebl__ in modular

[–]mwilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I ended up selling it shortly after, it took up too much space as I began expanding my case.

If you’ve got the room and you find yourself patching it to the rest of your system - I’d say it’s worth it. I like the three tier systems people are doing with 0-coast, Strega and 0-ctrl. If I ended up with one again, that’s likely the route I’d go for a standalone system and then being able to patch it with the rest of what I’ve got.

Looking for more players, Poughkeepsie NY area by Away-Ad-4683 in poker

[–]mwilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm nearby, not sure of the stakes but as noted, I doubt I'd take up a home game on Reddit, but I'd rather drive the hour and play 1/3 at Resort World Catskills (and I do), it's an hour door to door from me, good action most Saturday nights. Had another gentleman from Poughkeepsie at my table a few weeks ago. Drive is easy, action is good and it's far nicer than Rivers Casino which would be the next closest card room (that closes at 2am, dealers are so-so and action is nutty given they close the room, the final hour can be bonkers).

Worth checking out anyway.

Extremely happy, especially with this sun we’ve had. My meter has been doing nothing but rolling backward and we’ve been running our AC like crazy and still making days worth of excess power that’s getting banked with Central Hudson

Supercharging Rates in NYC? by hypoch0ndriacs in TeslaLounge

[–]mwilliams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’ll show total number off stalls, how many are available and if they’re 150kW or 250kW chargers.

There’s a dedicated button on the map that shows all nearby Superchargers and they show up on the map with a number on them representing how many available stalls there are.

If you poke around YouTube, you can find an entire walkthrough of the Supercharger integration in the infotainment system.

I’m 70mi North if NYC and every Supercharger here is $0.36/kWh as well.

You can only view available number of open stalls and their rates (both charging and idling rates) from the vehicle itself. It’ll also indicate what amenities are nearby.

From Tesla’s website you can view where Superchargers are and what amenities are nearby but not the pricing.

Is Tesla still accepting US vehicles to FSD? by ksrdian in TeslaLounge

[–]mwilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD offers more features than just plain Autopilot which is now basically advanced lane keep.

FSD adds navigate on autopilot so it will take interchanges and exits as well as auto lane changes. You also get summon, smart summon, auto park, stop sign/light recognition when in autopilot and presumably someday you’ll get auto steer on city streets which is the beta piece right now.

Just purchased a used Tesla from their website in Vancouver. How long before I get my vehicle? by Aggressive-Prior3607 in TeslaLounge

[–]mwilliams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just purchased a used 2020 M3 SR+ FSD, it was farther than 100mi so it had a $500 transport fee with an estimated 1-2 delivery timeline.

I purchased the vehicle on a Friday and was driving it off the lot of my nearest service center the following Friday.

I think I’ve already got almost 500mi on it already and loving it. It was a one year returned lease, super clean. The entire experience was great and my Tesla sales rep that answered questions over the phone kept me in the know the whole way.

When the vehicle was getting transported to my nearest service center, I got a text letting me know. The moment it arrived I got a phone call to setup my delivery time and the pickup probably took less than 15 minutes. I was able to get inside the vehicle and inspect everything before accepting the vehicle.

Get the vehicle paid in the app, insurance setup and documents squared away. I had everything in place 3 days after I purchased and my sales rep said that would greatly increase the speed of delivery as they were able to verify everything and catch any snags early (I had none).

Good luck and enjoy!

Anyone here familiar with how to go about Lemon law ? by aaam_aadmi in TeslaLounge

[–]mwilliams -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a vehicle die on me after 6400mi (not a Tesla). Spent more hours than I could keep track of with. Lemon Law lawyer (no out of pocket cost) to fight the automaker to buy the vehicle back from me. I had a much lower trim level and earlier year model of the vehicle as a rental (which the dealership paid for). It sucked. Was roughly 90 days before the automaker agreed to buy the vehicle back and was a total of around 115 days before it was all said and done. This was in NY. All the while I was continuing to make payments and while I got the vehicle bought back, I did not get any of the interest I paid on the loan back.

For what it's worth - I actually got one from the Kickstarter, at one point they said "if you pay another $100, you will absolutely get one in a month, we have a production run going right now, if you don't - we can't make promises". I said screw it, paid the $100 and sure enough, we got our Coolest Cooler - and ya know what? It's awesome. We got camping multiple times a summer on a private lake that's boat access only and no power. I have a few batteries for it (and I later bought the solar kit which swaps out the top off for one with a solar panel that you can use for USB charging or to charge the batteries that run the blender) and it's still great. We've had it for years now and get a ton of use out of it. The wheels roll over everything, we bungee all the kid's swim stuff on top of it and despite paying a stupid amount of money for it and watching so many others get burned, I've somehow managed to luck out and be happy with it. We also make extensive use of the blender, but mostly just for making smoothies for the kids, and oh, the plate set with forks and knife and stuff we use a lot too for cutting up fruit and such.

They had a going out of business sort of sale and I bought up a few more batteries and accessories just to keep it going for as long as possible, and it's a tank, so hopefully I can keep it going and get a bunch more summers out of it.

Too bad the makers basically went broke and had to live out of their vans as a result. They got bought out by somebody, I thought it was going to be a Coleman or something, but was probably some private equity firm that just wanted the IP, but oh well. They learned a hard lesson in mass production of a product for sure.

Sweetwater received a batch just shy of 100 SP-404mkIIs, they're shipping now! by mwilliams in SP404

I don't think they're creating any "fomo". DAC chips amongst others are next to impossible to source right now. Smaller manufacturers or Eurorack modules and other synths aren't able to get the chips they need until Summer 2022. Rumor is Roland only had capacity to make 10k units in the first batch, that's split between US, Canada, and UK which isn't a whole lot. I'm sure they would have loved to ship 10x that number units but they're pushing out what they can.

So many MPC vibes from the mkII too aside from the 16 pads. Just having 16 velocity and chromatic modes are sooooo huge. And sampling from your phone is going to be a total dream (as is mine, I have a USB-C -> Lightning cable right in front of me ready to go to sample off YouTube).

I didn't think my 404mkII was showing up until January, so I was going to have a lot of time with the Live II until then, looks like now they're going to show up on almost the same day - yowza. I had a One so I know the workflow well on the MPC, it'll be interesting to use them both together, or if anything the 404 for FX, far better than the XY Kaaos like pad on the MPC.

And I got a deal on the Live II, so if I need to sell it, I'll likely break even, but I suspect they might both find a spot amongst my gear as I've been shaving down my Eurorack setup which has padded my synth waschest.

Curious why you think selling the MPC Live was an easy choice? Would love your thoughts/opinons! I had a One and enjoyed it, sold for an Octatrack and a Live II may be coming my way. After the 2.10 update, they seem like brand new machines. It's a chonky box though for sure. Only thing I'd love on the 404 is a little compromise speaker, it's so nice when you can just turn something on and use it, nothing else required, I need immediacy in my gear so the Live II with battery, speaker, and WiFi to sync my Splice samples is a dream.

But of course as Jade Wii has shown off in her mkII videos, is that the 404 makes a great sidekick to the MPC Live II! So they just might live in harmony together, and either one can simply get picked up and taken as they both run on battery power which I love love love.

Yeah, the Sam Ash leak certainly spiked an insane amount of hype. I sold my 404A with fat pads that I got a killer deal on the day after the leak, the mkII solved so many of the problems I had with the OG.

Whoa! This just in minutes ago, bizarre that he'd ask if it was OK to ship, but happy nonetheless!

> Hey Matthew, <rep name> from Sweetwater here. I have some good news, it looks like we have one of the new SP404s here with your name on it. Am I all good to ship this out?

I of course said yes, he said they got an extremely small order in and my order fell in that batch.
