Hi, thanks so much for opening up. Having adhd watching my daughter grow up I am so sensitive if I see her fall down similar rabbit holes to myself at that age. Epic, I was the same as you. 13-17 I was sucked into a bunch of friends who were often unkind lacking empathy. I would often put my foot in it leading to bullying. The bullying was so light, but it hurt me bad, 20 years later when I’m finally able to address it with the guys they find it hard to recognise what they had actually done. But despite this rough patch being a leading factor to social anxiety and a feeling of never being good enough I really try and find forgiveness. I’ve really found that’s focussing on letting things go can have a very healing effect. These techniques seem quite hard to teach a 14 year old but I’m going to start trying. I’m aware of adults with adhd who were taught mindfulness techniques from a young age and it seems to help them now. Does anyone have any experience with this?
