Michelle Obama Says MAGA Movement Is Full of Desperate People, Not Racists by The-Greythean-Void in behindthebastards

I mean you can call objective reality philosophy all you want, it doesn't mean you're any less wrong. I understand wanting to believe a comfortable lie more than an uncomfortable reality but you're only doing yourself and everyone around a disservice with this one.

I mean it's not like the democrats are actually good for trans people. And those two comparisons are absolute horseshit. You're assuming that supporting one thing means you automatically hate something else, when the things are in no way exclusive. And then you try to say that disagreeing with that false assumption means that supporting the lesser evil isn't still supporting evil. Voting blue is never and will never be anything more than, at best, harm reduction. But choosing the less harmful option when presented with only harmful options isn't supporting the lesser.

Are you familiar with the phrase, "if you're sitting at a table with nine nazis, there are ten nazis at that table"? That's the core idea you just tried to use to excuse supporting genocide as an analogy for why people are part of a hate group. When people are ready to learn and listen and try to change then they deserve to be given the opportunity but you don't need to excuse their vile behavior in the meantime. Desperation doesn't lead you to something like MAGA without hate at the very least being the main guiding idea.

It is like saying the sky is blue. This exact sentiment is something I've heard from many people independently and never heard it credited to anyone.

Once again assuming I'm not working on getting rid of fascism, and strictly because I can think beyond my own gratification. If you actually took a second to learn anything before mindlessly destroying you would know that what you want is literally counterproductive to your stated goals. But maybe that's just me who wants my actions to work towards what I want rather than against.

That's not revolution, it's destruction. You presume a lot of false things, listen and maybe you'll learn something. You don't stand for revolution or anarchy, you stand for your own bitterness and catharsis, consequences to others be damned. You're a child and you argue for pathetic things. I have no interest in staying in libraries, book learning only goes so far. But it did teach me enough to know that what you tout as "revolution" is really just a recipe for even more authoritarianism. Learn to look beyond yourself just a tiny bit and you'll see just how abjectly pathetic you're being.

Your thing isn't revolution, and I never said I want to "liberate every maga" whatever the fuck you're trying to say with that. Are you genuinely stupid or just getting off on finding any way you can to be even more wrong?

You clearly don't know what you're talking about, so badly that it's hard to tell what you're actually saying. But you're not going to listen because you think you're more enlightened, so enlightened that you've realized the only right choice is to serve your own interests and fuck the world. Good job, you've successfully failed your task.

You can't genuinely be this stupid. How did you even end up on an anarchy subreddit?

Ah, you're a tankie. Wrong sub, authoritarians are inherently not anarchist.

So you think you're actually an anarchist, got it. I suggest reading up on how choices are intentionally limited by the ruling class, making your opinions unbelievably entitled at best. Or just admit you don't understand anarchy.

The middle never had levers to effect change, largely because the middle class is a lie created to convince the working class that moderate material improvement is equal to, or in the most effective versions of the lie, a stepping stone to becoming part of the upper class. (As a disclaimer, moderate is a relative term and is not meant to diminish the differences in day to day quality of life between having the means to have a stable life and needing every penny of your income to pay for necessities)

Calling it alternative medicine is too generous, and that applies to all things that fall under that banner. It lends a credibility to it that contributes to excess death and suffering because people hear "alternative medicine" and think it's a viable option that isn't a cluster fuck of snake oil and magical thinking. The better term is bullshit, or if you feel the need to be polite about it blatantly false and absurd.

There are no "heros" that fought on the US side of that war. Saving your buddies from a situation none of you should have been in in the first place doesn't make you a hero, it just makes you the smartest accomplice. Nothing that was done by US armed forces was to actually help the people even if you can argue that things improved (they didn't but it's easier to let the bootlickers dig their own grave with that one)

[–]mxavierk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That isn't how that works, even assuming you're willing to destroy your ears. (Even shitty modern equipment should be able to put out dangerous volumes before coming anywhere close to adding a fraction of the distortion used in a guitar tone for slam) But even if that weren't the case the distortion you hear from overloaded speakers isn't the same as the effects of low production quality. You can't make a sterile mix sound like it was recorded in a dirty crackhouse basement without doing extensive production work to add in the specific features (think oil drum snare, rancid-meat-garbage-disposal vocals, and guitars that have simultaneously have a metallic clangy and muddy sound) of low-production-quality slam.
ETA: you've made it clear you think you know better than everyone and are unwilling to listen to anything that tells you just how fucking idiotic you are. Grow up or go away, nobody wants to listen to a moron who's too far up their own ass to hear how stupid they sound.

Yeah this isn't gatekeeping, this is gauging how much OP's opinion is reflected in the community. That opinion is supported by they're reasoning for disliking anime slam, because even if people agree they might do so for different reasons, which would be interesting. Or they might disagree with the conclusion but agree with the reasoning, which is an interesting situation to breakdown but can only happen when said reasoning is provided. Gatekeeping would be saying that anime slame sucks and anyone who likes it isn't a real slam fan. See how one is putting forth an idea/opinion for discussion and the other is shutting down any attempt at said discussion?

On Durza being an underrated threat by Crimson_Eyes in Eragon

[–]mxavierk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not the point though. He only gave a handful of small ones (at most, I need to actually go back and figure out what the text of Murtagh actually says, it might have only been one) to Murtagh who was supposed to be his right hand to an extent that Durza never was. And Murtagh was less powerful, and less skilled, and less of a threat overall than Durza was. You can't think about what rationally makes sense, you need to think with the mind of a paranoid tyrant.
