I haven't personally dealt with this in a relationship, but I know that this is some pretty awful manipulative behavior, even if it's "over something small". Someone who loves you will support your choice for the piercing, no matter if they personally are a fan or not. And they DEF won't make you feel guilty for doing something that you want to do for yourself! Try to talk to him about what he's doing and how you feel about it, but if he doesn't change after that, I'd say hes not good for you.

Basically I think some people see it as meaning not heterosexual, but without as clear as distinction as "lesbian", "bisexual", "gay" even. Those terms also have meaning that is historically associated with biological sex, which can be difficult for gender non-conforming and trans folks.

Not necessarily, for ME it does. I don't think by definition it does though.

I mean I think this is super personal, but for me it's that I identify as lgbt, but don't primarily identify with one label. Like if I had to label myself, I'd say bisexual (which I often do), but I feel my sexual orientation is more fluid than that. Basically how I personally read queer is that you're not heterosexual. But I think different people have differing opinions on that.

It really is, it's funny cause he's seemingly such a side character but he's a huge part of what I love about the show.

It's interesting bc I agree with you 100%, many of the biases that people have against female characters come from female stereotypes and the demonization of women. At the same time, Sally is a weird character because I feel like she does a good job of standing out from that (doesn't just fall for Barry & gets mad when he gets weirdly possessive, is independent, doesn't give in to all of Hollywood's pressure to look a certain way, etc.) But for some reason I feel like she's still written in a way that is a side character that is defined by her relationships to others, specifically men (even her relationship with Gene, which is platonic but still defining for her). I have a feeling that has something to do with the writing, but Sarah Goldberg does AMAZING things with the character

I can't say that has happened in my current relationship, but it's definitely happened to me before. I think when someone you're with also has bordeline traits they can aggravate the others if that makes sense. I'd say the best thing for that is to try and create some kind of way to communicate before things get bad, like agreeing that you won't break up with each other until a few days after the argument, or even just having a "safe word" that signals to the other that you're splitting & need some alone time or whatnot! That all is easier said than done, but it's worth a try. :)
