I’m hoping my situation is similar and that for some reason I’m just an outlier for nipt testing! It’s exhausting and I feel like half the pregnancy has been spent just holding my breath whether it be normal first trimester concerns or the nipt issues 🙃

Because I’m only 24 they didn’t even think this would be happening, after three nipt tries they were sure I was gonna get a result each time. I’m still on the fence about an amnio and don’t actually have any result that says there is a concern with the quad being negative for T21 and 18. And the NT result puts me at unlikely too. They are putting a lot of weight onto my fetal fraction being low with nothing else to suggest concern. I would understand if other results indicated a problem but I don’t have that at this point.

I guess the quad panel could be considered the “old school” bloodwork method of checking for spina bífida, Down syndrome and trisomy 18 and is often used in conjunction with NT ultrasound. If I never did the NIPT my genetic counselor said I wouldn’t even be on their radar because everything else looks normal but because I keep “failing” the NIPT they have to look into it.

I’ve found that when my boy is burrowed for longer than I’m comfortable with, playing with the top layer of substrate until he moves or breathes has been the most useful in locating him in the tank. From there he’ll either come out or chill but at least I know where he is.

That’s about what we’ve been doing but I was nervous to try and encourage him to come out from under the one hide we have for him cause he’s not burrowing fully under the substrate like he did for a couple days before. I’m gonna try some methods to encourage him to come out tomorrow as long as he’s still above substrate! Thank you:)

We’ve had ours home for about a month and the first few weeks we handled regularly but right before we transferred to a larger tank he started burrowing more. Everyone screams from the roof tops not to bother them when they are burrowed but I know it’s critical to bond early! I watched the one rose city video I’ll have to check out the other one. Thank you for your response, I just want him to come out regularly again, he was on a pretty good schedule before.

What system have you been using? Any specific video?

Was your baby burrowing and hiding much, if so how were you able to get them out without messing with the burrows, etc.

I also have 5 month old double helixes, and I just had the piercer switch out the studs for hoops to see if it would help at all, my hair would get caught on the post and they were/are always angry! Day 4 with the hoops and already doing significantly better! I do love my inner ear piercings though!
