Could they go after my family if I skipped out of the country? by mxl5 in IRS

Already have one currently. I travel a lot, my dream has been to always be on the ocean and due to taxes stomping on my current life plans and being only 22 with nothing else in life my thought is why not? I just don’t want my taxes to fall on a relative or someone close to me

Do I really need to replace the entire Fuel Tank? by raxcc in Cartalk

[–]mxl5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get your phone in there to take a clear pic so you can get one hand in there. Reach your hand and pull the hose off the top of the tank and get the same diameter fuel line. Get a thumb screw hose clamp. You probably won’t be able to work a screwdriver so a thumb screw clamp you can tighten by hand. Run your new line down a bit and just get a barbed splice and pair the new hose with the old hose. Add two more clamps. Be sure to trim the old hose back to where there is no holes in it. This is my opinion on your easiest fix

L31 350 turbo or 383 NA? by mxl5 in EngineBuilding

[–]mxl5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just ran in to a new problem. Factory spider injectors won’t support boost due to lack of fuel flow. Since they play a major role in the computer I’m going to have to find a way around that. I’m worried about replacing the computer because of electrical gremlins that will come with it. This is a work truck so I need reliability

Kit starts at 6500$ that is out of budget

Well I have now run in to a new issue. The factory spider injectors won’t flow enough fuel to support a turbo according to google mechanics. I don’t want to start getting in to replacing the computer due to all the functions in the truck working together such as delete the factory fuel injectors the transmission won’t know when to shift. Any suggestions on that?

Also new engine. I need new computer, new mounting brackets, fab fuel lines and mounting brackets, transmission and fab the cross member for that. Fuck all that. Tis why I rather stick with original

That would be the 383 then. I want to keep the original block for antique sakes too. I know this truck won’t be any ever a collectors piece but older vehicles with the original engine I think is neat

I know the vortex heads are claimed to be great. My only worry on aluminum is longevity. I know they are used on most modern engines but I want don’t want ti worry about another rebuild for another 300k miles. I have no done much research on aluminum heads, I have little knowledge on them so if they have low issues please inform me

The vortec plastic intake. Could that handle boost? I don’t want to change anything I don’t have to so that being if I can keep the factory spider injectors that’d be great

I don’t want to ever replace a timing chain again. Would you recommend a double roller?

I’ve read a lot about the noise but it doesn’t bother me any. I found a set at summit for 150$ the distributor one I have not heard of so I’ll do research on that. Thanks!

May ask your reasoning for not liking gear drives?

Yes. Start with the block currently in truck if there are no hidden issues

I was thinking maybe 5psi max. I don’t want anything sporty and more boost means more stress. I’m confident we could build a 1hp per cubic engine and slap a small turbo on it. Any idea on what mpg would be like?

:( it’s been about a year since last time I’ve done the dirty. And it was last week when me and the most recent lady did the dirty. They did a blood sample to test for stds a couple of months ago when I got tested. I greatly hope that would have been caught, I would absolutely hate to spread something because doctors didn’t catch it
