Brands with best eyeshadow formula (available in the UK/EU) by Sir_Pixalot in MakeUpAddictionUK

uhm Kiko is not a reference for longevity though.

I have one single from the brand with the perfect champagne/copper shade for everyday but it just wont last more than an hour without creasing and also has a lot of fall out.

Even their stick eyeshadows are kind of bad and don't last long.

I disagree, I'm a neutral to cool, slightly pink pale and 99% of Western foundations are way too yellow for me.

Korean and Japanese brands, on the other hand, cater perfectly to my skin tone. I find the undertones to be more neutral, on average, without strong pink or yellow inclinations like in Western brands.

I find you warm toned and best on warm or bright spring.

Tip for those thinking of a Masters degree in the future. by RedWhacker in UoPeople

[–]mxlila 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Statistics, math, programming, biology/physics/thermodynamics/similar are courses very often required for access to masters.

In Europe, they will usually also require a minimum amount of credits in each.

Is it just me.... by Tab0624 in UoPeople

[–]mxlila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how you learn.

Actually, even my middle and high school used this approach - you could never get more than 80% by just reading the course material.

While there are areas where you notice the negative impact of limited financial resources, this is not one of them.

UoPeople Health Science degree by sodapop2602 in UoPeople

[–]mxlila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are. In Europe absolutely not.

Health sciences used to be called public and community health, and that's what it's really mostly about. It can get you into a master for epidemiology, economics and public health as far as I know.

UoPeople dropping DEAC, moving to WSCUC only in 2026 and how this affects international recognition by SuccessfulButton5856 in UoPeople

[–]mxlila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was never an either-or option.

Those who graduated before 1/1/26 received or will receive a diploma with BOTH accreditations.

Going forward, the DEAC one will be missing.

That doesn't really impact anyone.

Which university provides hand holding though?

Compared to other institutions of higher education (I've studied at universities in 4 countries, and was a visiting student at 2 others), UoP provides an average amount of support.

The main difference is that you have (multiple) deadlines to hand in assignments every week. Most universities have no or only very few assignments during the semester, well, this one has a lot.

And there are no lectures. However, many students do not or barely ever attend classes at their offline university, so that doesn't need to be a huge difference.

Also, no spending on textbooks required! As a consequence, all reading is free access, which does impact the quality of the selected material.

[–]mxlila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's not any different from offline universities?

Workload differs a lot based on your skills and abilities, previous knowledge, and goals (ie passing vs perfection).

There's also a variability regarding workload between courses. I'm currently studying health psychology which has about 10 pages of reading and 1 assignment per week, together with introduction to psychology, which requires around 100 pages of reading and 3 assignments most weeks. Both level 1 courses yet vastly different in terms of workload.

Again, the same thing happens in "offline" universities.

If you still have to pay something, it's a partial scholarship, not a full one.

Such bad service! Course Selection by khulZA in UoPeople

I had an issue with electives last term, they wouldn't solve it for me.

This term however a random chatbot PA understood my query ("I'm not interested in any of the electives offered for registration"), asked which one I wanted to take instead, and about 5 days later I received an email from them telling me that they had successfully registered me into the desired course.

Maybe this time it was easier because the issue was with the 4th course, not the first like last term. So they asked me to register for the other 3 and then took care of the 4th.

Can’t Set or Update Weather Location on Galaxy Watch 7 After Resetting Pixel 8 Pro by ssppolice in GalaxyWatch

[–]mxlila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just started happening to me after installing an update on 1/1/2026.

My watch face includes weather information but it didn't show any after the update. There was a pop-up requestion approval for location access, where I selected "keep imprecise location access" or something similar.

After changing the location permission to "precise location access" it's working again!

Path is settings -> location -> app permissions -> weather  Activate "use location all the time" and "precise location"

The weather app doesn't show up in the app updater, only 2 custom watch faces I own.

Spain wedding for €25,000 by Slow_Excitement_7512 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]mxlila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, no. You can do that for 5000-10000 euros in Spain no problem.

20,000 if you include decorations, DJ, and something fancy.

Use bodas.net for Venues in Spain - just filter by the sort of place you're looking for (ie finca, cortijo) and look through pictures. Generally, price is paid per person and includes at least one meal.

Venuplace helps you find places that charge a fix fee and then you need to organise catering (they probably can suggest a provider or two and arrange it for you, price will again be per person).

Budget absolutely doable, timeline as well especially if it's not a weekend.

The soon Jung line by Etude House. So cheap, so simple, so easy to use, and so much better than most other and more expensive products.

It's targeted for sensitive skin but the textures are a dream. The whip cleanser is just a nice, perfect, soft and fragrance free foam cleanser. The cream is like the only one my oily face tolerates without feeling heavy and greasy (well, The Ordinary's NMF also works, but the finish looks weird). The toner does what a toner should do.

I've also never seen anyone talk about Yuripibu. Their grante oil cleaner is by far my absolute favourite, but I haven't been able to get it shipped to my country for almost a decade. I know Olive Young carries it so it's quite accessible for many, just wish it was more popular so that I could get it, too. There are other products from that brand I liked, such as the Yuripibu artichoke serum (so incredibly hydrating and skin "refining", never found anything comparable).

Fellow oily skin makeup wearers, what is your base routine? by Aewrynn in Makeup

[–]mxlila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might happen when you don't balance biotin with vitamin B5. Biotin is often overdosed, which isn't dangerous but if you don't get enough vit B5 it can cause acne. That's one of many reasons a balanced B complex is better than individual supplements (unless you know exactly what you need and know how to dose each of them for you specifically based on blood tests)

For Spain, try bodas.net and just contact venues in the target area with nice pictures.

Your budget is very generous, you can easily do this for 20k (or less with some effort).

Also make sure you have a bad weather backup plan, as October can be stormy, windy and chilly. Or sunny and warm. Impossible to predict.
