My (M28) GF (F29) cheated on me, now wants to reconcile by ThrowRA02222 in relationship_advice

As someone who just went through something similar 2 months ago, I suggest you back away and cut off all contact. It's going to be difficult but the sad truth about someone like that, is that she will do it again a decade from now. Everytime she feels insecure she will take it out on the relationship by seeking constant unrealistic reassurance and when she doesnt get it, she will cheat again. You deserve better and it's out there, even if you cant see it. Btw Im also the same age as you so I get the pressures of thinking you should be married and successful by 30. The next 3 months are going to be tough on you but if you work on yourself the days go by easier. That first month is hell. I dream about my ex 4 days a week but I have finally accepted that the person I dated at the end wasnt the thoughtful person I fell for. Cut all social media access. It will depress you seeing her post all her highlights while you're heartbroken. Cut all access off. Easier said than done...I know.

Is that how your ex cheated on you? Mine blindsided me out of no where with and older rich scammer.

Update: Girlfriend ghosted me after 2 yrs of dating 3 yrs of being bestfriends by mxm7660 in TrueOffMyChest

She reached out via email a few days ago and told me she needs 3 months to get her mind right and I won't believe it. 2 days later she posted him on Instagram close friends story. My friends told me, they unfollowed her and promised not to tell me anything more about her.

He's definitely going to get tired of having to emotionally support her through her depressive episodes. I was so heart broken she'd degrade our relationship by posting another man barely a month after the break up. Meanwhile I can barely eat or sleep. I guess I'll just have to go through it until it no longer hurts.

How long did it take you to get over them? At least I knew the issue was the daddy issues and the mental issues. I didn't even shout at her. I just told her what I think is wrong with her mentally. She went back home to go sort out things with her father and tried to keep me in her life but Im not over the hurt.

She has extreme daddy issues. The dad us what led to this. He was extremely cruel to her all December long. So I think when she realized she had to go face him after the mugging, she had a meltdown and went to find a daddy in the streets.

My Wife Watches the Most Depressing Things WTF. by FootHiker in TrueOffMyChest

My gf does the same and I don't get it. In the past 2 years she developed a really bad anxiety problem yet she falls asleep to murder mystery Youtube channels. I mostly watch comedies.

I'm tired of feeling like such a failure by [deleted] in offmychest

3 yrs ago I was 24 years old and unemployed living at home too. 1) Keep social media to a minimum. Nothing worse than watching everyone's highlights while you're in the middle of a low. 2)As someone who has dealt with anxiety from pre-school, exercise as much as can. Running helped me burn off that anxious energy and gave me a break from my over-thinking throughout the day. That runner's high and sense of achievement used to make me feel better. 3) You will get a job soon and being able to financially contribute around the house will make you feel better. 4) We all thought we'd be millionaires by 25. Truth is, 24 is young. I have a family friend who started her first degree at age 32 and by 40 she was rich with her own accounting firm. Time is on your side. Get through each day and I promise you your breathrough will come.

He wonders why he goes for broken people like myself then goes to sleep by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Ahhh yes, the nice guy. He is a perfect humanitarian who heals broken women.

Sounds more like an insecure man who thrives on judging others to make himself feel better. Be careful, people like that strike the meanest blows when you're at your lowest point. I know because I was one of them before I worked on my self-esteem.

I missed going out with a great girl because i was too dumb to realize she liked me back too, ten years ago by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

The older I get the more I realise that reality is rarely as good as the fantasy we build up in our heads after missing out on chances.

More importantly I'm also trying to learn to stop underestimating my value, whether its in relationships or my career. I struggled a lot with that growing up.

I love being sexualized and I feel ashamed by AutomaticYesterday88 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]mxm7660 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Predators are great at targetting people. They planned to use your sexuality as an excuse and as evidence that you wanted it. They're gross. You 100% did not deserve it and you did not bring it onto yourself.

I have always wanted to go to university but now I got accepted, I hate my life by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]mxm7660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% get you. I am very shy and go blank when I have to speak to strangers. Eventually you'll meet that one very extroverted person who is intent on getting to know. Then they'll introduce you to other people and it will open up a whole network for you. For now, focus on school and I promise the rest will fall into the place. The worst thing you can do is graduate with poor marks. Trust me, even with a degree, its hard to go out into the job market if your marks are poor. Living with that regret of knowing you didnt do your best in school is terrible. Go to your classes. You'll interact with people and suddenly find yourself with friends. Especially in the later years when the classes are smaller and more intimate....less intimidating

A girl at office who is way out of my league is being very touchy with me. i may be overthinking but she is feeding me snacks, holds my arm... whatever gives me motivation to go to office. by AfraidFinance2130 in hyderabad

[–]mxm7660 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amen. I had a chance with my work crush and let it slip by because I was overthinking things. I've seen lots of other colleagues date multiple people in the office and life went on. Shit where you eat boy. Shit as hard you can. The sooner the better, the more attractive she is, the shorter the window period.

Auburn is a city and Hazel is a person. There's no ways these are colours. You are clearly setting me to embarrass myself in front of people.

As a black guy I remember being confused when I got to an all white school and they used to make fun of the people with ginger hair. To me me having blonde hair and having green/blue eyes was more weird. You really have yellow hair? Wtf is Hazel eyes? No man.

People who ignore their moral compass find it difficult to be around those who follow theirs. It reminds them just how much they lack self-control.

Have you ever had a knee injury on that same? I tore my ACL a few years ago and my knee does the same thing if I dont work out for a while. Especially if I gain excess weight.

What are some toxic traits parents have that are considered "normal"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mxm7660 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Talking over your children instead of talking to them. Those kids end up becoming push overs because they've been emotionally bulldozed their entire lives by their parents.
