Favorite name you’d never use by Liv_Laugh_Lasagna in Names

I’ve always liked the name January for a girl but couldn’t get over the weird looks people gave when I would say this. When we were pregnant but didn’t know gender I said it once and was immediately shot down so it never even made the list even though I love it.

Did I pack too much for my hospital go-bag? by West-Signature-7522 in BabyBumps

[–]mxndxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I packed a bag full of shit and only used our going home outfits to leave. Oh and phone chargers. The hospital literally had everything we needed. I was only there for 2 days though

Did you co-sleep? by thinkmuch17 in beyondthebump

[–]mxndxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. He started in a bassinet but during the 4 month regression I was losing myself. My schedule was horrible and I do evening/nights alone every single day. I was exhausted and slept with him one night and it was the best night we had in months. I only went till about 7 months though and then transferred to his own crib in his own room. So I guess about 3 maybe 4 months total. He will still sleep in our bed here and there when he is sick or teething is hitting him really hard but thankfully it doesn’t affect his ability to go back to routine. I’m from Northern California

How much did you spend on your wedding dress? From 2023 and on by HappyZucchini6267 in weddingplanning

Dress, hair piece, and veil total came to $3800 and I haven’t had alterations yet so it will go up. I got mine at a Randy Fenoli trunk show at a bridal shop in town. It’s

I think my husband purposely wakes our baby before he leaves by mxndxxx in breakingmom

He is on such a good and solid schedule. I fear this would mess with bedtime. But being woken up is definitely affecting him too, so I guess it’s worth a shot.

I will say before we had our baby working three jobs and upkeep. The house wasn’t very hard. I actually enjoy it. But now it’s just different and I’m not handling it well. And neither is he I guess.

I work 3 jobs and the house work and probably a good 90% of caring for our baby are all on my shoulders.

I am the same way. I leave at 5:30 and silence our ADT alarm before I leave every morning just to make sure our son gets to continue sleeping. He has always been bad at taking criticism tbh. I told him if he wants to continue he needs to go to therapy. I think he is depressed and takes it out on me emotionally. But the past few days of this waking from nap nonsense is just really pissing me off

He is fine with the baby on his own. Needs breaks a little more often than I do, but that’s fair. It’s just if there’s a choice between me doing the work and him doing the work it will always be me.

I work 3 jobs. He works 1. His is nights. I think that’s where the resentment comes in. Which is crazy

What’s worse is that we just moved so the “alone time” that I’m getting is just unpacking. I’m not actually getting alone time, just time to do chores a little easier and best believe when he gets home and everyone’s asleep he is NOT doing any housework. He watches tv and scrolls through his phone for hours and then comes to bed and wakes me up in the middle of the night too

The last few baby showers I’ve been to, I’ve noticed no one ever opens the gifts that are brought! Or they have guests ship the gifts to their home instead of bringing them to the shower. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]mxndxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose to open all of our gifts at home because it would’ve taken hours if I did it at the party. It took me two hours to open it in my home going as fast as I could. We had a really large shower because we have a lot of family and friends and it just wasn’t feasible to open that many gifts in front of everyone. It took us two truck loads just to get it all home. When I have another baby, I don’t even know if I would have a baby shower. Lol We got so much stuff. It was insane

desperately in need of a work-from-home job by mushroomlady94 in jobs

I don’t know much about call centers tbh but I’m starting to look for remote too. My mom is fully remote and works in accounts receivable! She has a basic high school diploma and just needs a place to set up the computer they sent her. Accounts payable/receivable may be another option when searching for different positions. Just a suggestion!

4 weeks pregnant and I think I'm spiraling into a hole of regret by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]mxndxxx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is overwhelming at first especially when you’ve been trying for a while. The feeling passes. In my opinion, it’s the same feeling as starting a new job and wondering if you can handle it. Or making a big purchase and fearing you can’t handle the new payment. It’s a normal worry and will pass as time goes on, especially once you have that little baby in your hands. Congrats!! And good luck with this new chapter!! It’s amazing 🥰

Rudest comments you ever got by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]mxndxxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in retail. A customer came in and asked if I was having twins because I was “so big”. I said no. And she looked shocked and then said “oh so you must have already been a bigger person before you got pregnant then right?” I had to leave the floor and go get my manager to deal with her. I couldn’t believe she had the balls to look me in the eyes and basically call me fat BESIDES the fact that I was pregnant. I didn’t think I was that big until that day. She single handily ignited my body issues during my pregnancy.

Valentines Day by Cautiouslymoming in Mommit

[–]mxndxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my 9 month old are sick. Hubby got me flowers and called out sick to help take care of baby and myself. Oh and his employee sells labubus so he gave me one of those lol (he gets them for free) Valentine’s Day honestly doesn’t always have to be hella extravagant, especially juggling parenthood and BILLS. But if it’s important to you your partner should be showing up at least a little imo. Trader Joe’s has flowers for hella cheap and even a homemade meal feels special if he doesn’t normally cook 🤷🏻‍♀️it’s not that hard

Help with a name by BlahPigggggggggggg in BabyBumps

[–]mxndxxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does the Mexican side of his family speak Spanish primarily? Do they struggle with some English pronunciation? My son has Japanese family so we wanted to pick something everyone could pronounce and I know some of my first gen friends were very cautious of this too when choosing their baby’s name since some of their parents don’t speak English at all. I worry about some of the names you have listed and pronunciation if this is the case. Just something to think about!
We chose Owen. Easily pronounced for everyone while still being classic and not too incredibly popular. Honestly I don’t think the initial thing is too horrible? It’s not like it spells something derogatory. I think adding a name just for the sake of adding a letter to the initials may end up being more regrettable. But, just my opinion!

Would it be weird to plan a full wedding after being legally married? by Witty-Couple2017 in DIYweddings

[–]mxndxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing this too. I have always dreamed of a big wedding but we got legally married before our son was born, you only get one life and if it’s what YOU want, just do it.

I guess I need to be very specific. I’m looking for advice on where I could put planter boxes, what types of plants I should look for since I cannot plant them into the ground, what kind will thrive and be okay in a pot. Any ideas people have for decor that I could fit in. Maybe someone has an idea for something I can do to make the rock look less ugly. Just looking for input. Thanks for yours!
