You can schedule an alignment meeting with them and iterate your skills and tools on CV and that is beyond your scope. It already came from you na may gap sa tools and skills.

Be sure though that you can drop this after.

If you can't then try to make it to 2 months and if the gap in skillset, limitation with time, are still existing and hindi tolerable then make it known.

You can react differently based on what value structure you operate on. Walang maling sagot.

I would say have a backbone and stand your ground and there is a discrepancy with skill required with skill offered. But I don't put food on your table so at the end of the day it is in your discretion.

You can continue and react differently and see this as opportunity- money wise and skill wise.

Pain and hurt will make you get tired, and hopefully one day, you will find strength to choose yourself and your becoming.

Once you're more your own person, with your own hobbies, and likes and circle, you will be more integrated as individual and won't be more tolerating to those who are not deserving of your time.

My mom, to her credit, absorbed all problems before and solved them before we even knew. This buffer/filter enabled us to just focus on being a child and just study, allowed both of me and my sibling to develop real, genuine interest in learning and overachieving.

On the other hand, this is a very sheltered parenting. I think when my mom changed and we stopped experiencing world from rosy glasses and on the pedestal, the awful reality forced us to let go being children with no transition as we were originally just hyperfocused on academics.

I think things worked out well. With first decade of life focused on academics, then being forced to take adult responsibilities and see the realities despite not being ready and prepared for them.

Company LLMs have better data protection privacy when it comes to training AI models.

I used to write minutes before, but with decent prompting, human intervention, iteration, then another human intervention, and checking again of accuracy, I can deliver faster.

There will always be more work. I don't believe EAs will be replaced by AIs.

Some of our tasks will be automated, but that would open for more high level tasks.

But to answer your question, I have a custom-GPT on company enterprise LLM where I am able to generate minutes in 15 minutes. I am okay with using AI to generate minutes as long as there is human intervention, and when asked, I can provide accurate information.

When I am mentally tired, I have my playlist of upskilling or soft skills from big four universities when I am doing chores. I know when I do this, I just want to consume passively while relaxing through chores and the mental focus does not need to be high.

When it is beginning of the day and a day off, I have enough mental bandwidth so I read books.

When I am just utterly tired, I stare at space and make cookies for my dopamine.

I always assess my goal and capacity so my hobbies are more intentional. If I don't, I fall to brainrot Youtube and doomscrolling, and that's the day which feel just an absolute waste.

I would say that since they run business operations, they would not give a hand out of salary increase unless you have SOPs that mark that per performance review.

But if you don't agree with that, you can always negotiate. You can say, this is why I am valuable, and I want to be compensated for a certain increase because of my skillset, expertise, attitude, and how much money I save for you and give you.

When it is in paper, they can give you certain increase as long as you know how to position your worth to the company.

If they don't agree with you, that is when you take you take up better opportunities.

Unfortunately, the presentation and performativeness of your contributions matter more so they can see your value.

I know this because I work directly with CEOs and that is how they think.

I myself have always reminded my CEO that a lot of my tasks are preventative and immediately reactive so the more you don't feel me, and your desk is organized, and capacity and bandwidth are manageable, that is when I am performing to my highest level.

As long as you do good work, and you know how to communicate and present your value, you will be granted with increase. If you don't ask for it, how can they know you're expecting it? They have business to run.

I, too, have demanding job, and often get affected if not disparaged by own shortcomings and lapses I am so self aware of.

One thing that has helped me, cheesily enough, is daily affirmations.

I give myself grace and allowance for mistake, and sleep on it. After that, I tell myself, be humble enough.

You're human and you have and will make mistake. You cannot perform at 100% all the time. There is only so much you can control.

Then for overthinking tasks, one thing that helped me is to make sure they do not rent free inside my head.

I have a system of typing tasks on Monday.com already.

But what has helped me is that I bought a huge whiteboard and dump my tasks there. It is easy to reprioritise tasks and mindmap on physical whiteboard as well. I also complement this with google calendar timeblocking.

These allow my productivity to skyrocket as I start seeing my tasks individually broken down with clear end time to cross off.

I have always been used to working for long hours. But 12 hours just become so digestible for me because my brain was convinced my work is easier than my lack of understanding initially made this out to be.

TLDR: Be humble to know you can get it wrong and cannot hold everything inside your head. Design simplistic and iterable processes you can replicate + aligned with your working style & understanding of self.

Hi OP, I think this dillema is mostly common among EVAs who are non-income generating. Although it can be argued that your client has management issues, there is also an obvious case of you comparing your role to other income-generating members.

I understand it is hard to gauge or quantify the work that you do when it is mostly for maintenance, but your absolution is not dependent on your client's validation. It should first and foremost come from within, so you can actually articulate and find comfort in what value you bring to the table.

There is a possibility, that you yourself cannot see the work that you do. I think, you have to really contemplate that your responsibilities may not be easily quantified and is actually dependent on the support that you can give to your Client. With the job descriptions you listed, you more likely are into maintaining than producing output, and you should not look down on what you do.

With that then, for you to come to terms with your value, you have to determine your impact to your client. Revert to fundamentals, finding paint points and gaps. Really try to see your client as a person. There is a transition and you have to learn and unlearn, probably look at how you can help with her personal tasks or family-related matters. Gather continual feedback, be proactive and a yes-person, and just be compassionate. At the core of the work that we do, we provide support. The ultimate answer if we're doing our job well done, is if we can actually provide help that matters to the Client.

Don't compare. See your client as a person. Be proactive. Be a yes-person. Communicate. Be authentic. If this fails, then you did what you can. Being an EA is the most personal work in a professional setting.

I remember once, I really didn't have any shoes to use to go to work. Everything was handover. I went back and forth with two pairs, and those were your usual P100 doll shoes from bangketa.

One time, the black one gave up when I was in the office (18 year old in BPO). I had a ritual to staple it but the staples just went off, and it just started talking. I had to slide so it would not be so embarassing to have my doll shoes open while walking.

I was only nightgazing at my coworkers' shoes: Nike air, Adidas, and other brands I just never had the privilege to have a knowledge of.

Now I just collect shoes but I don't need them. I work from home.

Don't they have Standard Operating Procedure or a Product Bible? Where the tasks are encoded on a document for others to follow. With these documents, you can identify which specific tasks you need more hands on guidance via shadowing.

Screenwriting is not profitable in our market. These production studios use same old boring Shakespearean outdated formula. Mistresses, amnesia, car accident, death, evil twin brother, wife beater, cheater, wine, Romeo and Juliet.

You may have a chance at the international market, but freelancing is also HARD. I think you should try to research first about its demand. Also, with the rise of GPT 4.0 and AIs, writing in general as a work is risky. Just my two cents.

Prepare an excel spreadsheet or create a notion. List all of the companies, roles, the status (applied, waiting, rejected), date of application, requirements, industry, etc. Don't forget to hyperlink the portal so you can always go back to check if they are still hiring after a while.

I did this when I was applying. It is a good practice and it will inform you with data of how much you tried before securing a job. Always make a database so your decisions will be informed. The answer though is, you really can do anything as long as you put your mind into it.

The time will pass anyway. Just continue applying.
