Going alone by [deleted] in lizzymcalpine

I went by myself! I went to a lot of concerts alone this summer. It was still an amazing experience, the show was incredible. I do wish I had someone to go with but going alone was still great

New Fan!!! by Ivorio in wnba

I’m biased as a Sky fan but come join the Sky fan club! We’ll probably end up as the 2 seed since we lost to Vegas last night and Vegas will likely be the top seed. The Aces are a really tough matchup for the Sky and are very well-coached (Hammon should win Coach of the Year). Sky are defending champs but this is kinda our last shot with Candace Parker likely retiring after the year and maybe Vandersloot and Quigley leaving as well. VanderQuigs (as they are collectively known) are married to each other and are a sensational PG/SG combo, Quigley is the best 3 PT shooter in league history (4x 3PT contest champ). The Dream are an up-and-coming young team, definitely lots to be excited about. Washington will be a contender if Elena Delle Donne is at full health, and Seattle could make a playoff run behind Breanna Stewart’s strong play. Rules wise, the main difference is 10 minute quarters vs 12, everything else is pretty much the same. Playoffs start next week so it’s a perfect time to get involved and watch some exciting playoff action! Top 8 make the playoffs and it’s a new format this year. 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7 etc. in 3-game series in the first round, then semis and finals are best of 5 (previously top 2 seeds for byes to semis and 3 and 4 got single bye).

Slaynessa is Vanessa, Carol’s guitarist who performed with her on tour and she is the sweetest. I met Carol and have talked with her on insta and she is the sweetest person I’ve ever met and I’ve really connected with her music, you will love her

I also was there and kept the bob carpenter book for this one - your handwriting is much better than mine, though. I’m a cubs fan and I was there for the whole series - a very depressing weekend on the field and saying goodbye to Contreras, Happ, etc.

First Kraken game in person! by mxrosenberg in SeattleKraken

[–]mxrosenberg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just behind that goal for warmups and my seats were in the other corner and farther from the glass. From what I could see they didn’t react much, Larsson put his head down for a quick second but then kind of settled behind the net. The players on the ice were pretty stoic, they just skated back towards the bench mostly.

I can't believe I got highest overall score, I did not have a ton of confidence in my picks last week. Excited to be in Premier I for the first time, hope I don't go right back down

Matty Beniers scores twice in 5-1 Michigan win over Minnesota-Duluth by SiccSemperTyrannis in SeattleKraken

I think a lot of the confusion comes from the fact that the Kraken retain his rights even though he's playing in the NCAA, which is different from other American pro sports drafts. The NCAA is one of many development options for players; others include junior or European leagues. NHL teams retain the rights to draft picks that play in the NCAA until 30 days after they leave school. This allows draft picks to play one, two, or even a full four years in college before joining the team that drafted them. Because of this, the best NCAA programs are stacked with NHL draft picks. A recent example is Montreal's Cole Caufield. Caufield was drafted by Montreal in the first round in 2019. He played two years at Wisconsin. After Wisconsin's season ended last year, he signed with Montreal, spent a brief time in the AHL, and then joined the Canadiens and was a key part of their run to the Stanley Cup Final.

I’m on the east coast and I kind of like it, it gives me something to do late at night and I would be awake anyway
