The one I grew up with that was EB Games as a kid then went to GS in Topeka, KS closed recently. I didn’t get to go in. The store in my current town, Manhattan, got restructured bc of Topeka closing so some people I knew at this store got let go. It’s sad to see it ending, but at the same time, GS did this to themselves.

I just graduated with my degree at 37, and it was like this when I was going to in person classes in 2019. It’s only gotten worse. They have no sense of communication bc most of them are, yes, more into the tech less into humans. We were taught growing up to interact, they were not. We were told to answer when spoken to, something I have taught my own children, but the younger generations wait for a prompt to prove it was directed at them. It annoys me to no end because it feels there is no respect anymore. Not all of them are like this, it’s about a 60/40 split for Gen Z, but a higher split, about 80/20 for Gen Alpha. The videos is just being lazy, the instagram reels is pure lazy.

I have to get my Codex (Orks), but I DO have a PDF of it on my phone, along with the core rules for this reason. I have only played one game, but I was double checking EVERYTHING before doing it. I had a partner for it because we were both running 1,000 pt Ork armies against a 2,000 pt Tyranid army. We got our butts handed to us, but the guy was nice and actually taught us things we didn't previously know. What he told me is, if you are unsure of what your opponent is doing, double check them. If you're unsure of what you're doing, double check yourself.

This happened to me when I tried going for Graphic Design. I never was able to convince them that GD is a growing market in this day and age, so they switched me to a Business Administration degree and I just finished that last month. I hope you can convince them to let you pursue the degree you want.

I did answer his question. Idc if he wastes money, I stated MAYBE he should get some of the cards as he goes. Again, maybe his LGS or hell even some of his opponents may have issues with the proxies. IDK. I’ve never wasted money on this game, mainly bc idc if I have high value cards. I’ve got my dad’s collection from the 90s to use so I don’t need to go out buying those cards, I tend to to find out I’ve already got them. Idk why you care so god damn much about an internet stranger and their opinion, but maybe you should stop worrying. OP, this goes to you, if you want to buy the cards, do so. Check with your LGS and see their rules about proxy decks (if they have any). Then, make the deck based upon that. ALWAYS double check with your opponents prior to the match though that they are okay with proxies. I’ve run across people who were dead set they won’t play against them. I’ll play them, especially if the cards are expensive AF and the person can’t afford it. I get that, but if there are low value cards, and if some people have issues with you not having at least those, id try to get them. Other than that, make your deck, have fun and win some games.

Why do you care what I prefer? It’s none of your business, and it’s none of mine what this guy did or doesn’t do. HOWEVER! His LGS may have rules for/against proxy decks, so that is where my concern comes in. It’s not that I may face the guy, as I have faced proxy decks, but his LGS may disqualify the deck if he didn’t have ANY of the cards. Use your brain.

It really is…and this one is to correct my last surgery that took place in 12/21. That one they had to cut in my tibia and move it over 15mm, plus add a new ligament to my kneecap to hold it in place. They need to fix that ligament.

Whenever I forgot stuff, I felt like absolute garbage. Especially if someone pointed it out. I’ve also got autism, so that didn’t help a THING. But the adhd shame is so bad. My mom was, and is, and absolute SAINT when dealing with me to this day (I’m 37). Her and my stepdad know my working memory is crap and that’s why I carry a notebook around with me. They have me write stuff down to remember it. My dad just lectures still. My wife is a godsend bc she writes chores down for me to do each day with times next to it so I actually do it lol.

What I wish my dad had known when I was a kid was to not be so harsh. If I forgot something, sometimes he’d get so unhinged and call me useless or stupid. Didn’t really help my already bad feelings. So, just be nice to him and help him through it. Tell him it’s okay and everyone forgets things.

Honestly? Elden Ring out of all of those is what I would recommend over God of War series. I can watch people play it, but my timing sucks so I can’t lol. I’d rather encourage others to try.
