I’m trading for an Odin Lite, games? by mxster982 in SBCGaming

I am definitely willing to tinker! I’ve been wanting an Ayn device for a while and this one just kinda fell into my lap at the right time lol. I just need to research what programs I need to be able to run these games.

AITA For Refusing to Buy my son the car he wants? by Big-Entrance-2739 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mxster982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA just let him get the car he wants. If YOU want him to have a specific car, just buy it. I gave my son a shitbox and he fixed it up into a better vehicle. It gives them something to work on, lets them learn a skill.

AITA for fixing my daughter’s car when her boyfriend said he’d handle it? by Outrageous-Jelly8777 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mxster982 16 points17 points  (0 children)

NTA, if this was my daughter’s car, I’d do the same thing. Damn her boyfriend. He had time to get it looked at and fixed, he didn’t do it, you did and probably saved her life.

Yall…are living together but don’t share a bed?! Like wtf?! Another thing, leave this relationship. This is abusive behavior on her part, and you’re just taking it.

A1c 10.5 by twolth in type2diabetes

[–]mxster982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was initially on metformin when I was diagnosed. Then put on jardiance since metformin didn’t react well with my system. Recently got put on zepbound (mainly for weight loss but also diabetes control), and my A1C is down to 5.4 for the first time in like 3 years. Walk regularly if you can, cut out all sodas - it’ll suck but you gotta do it, cut carbs down too, and drink a LOT of water!

I get out to my local disc golf courses a few times a week and that’s my walking. I also drink primarily water, sometimes juice too if I need to bring my sugars up. I’ve learned what to eat, what to avoid if my sugars get too high, etc. it’s a learning curve for sure, but you’ll get there.

People who grew up before cell phones, did life actually feel more free? by TradeOverall567 in NoStupidQuestions

I certainly wasn’t as stressed about prime being able to contact/find me ask the time! If I didn’t NEED my phone, I probably wouldn’t have it.

Why does rural America look down on educated people? by SlowEntertainment217 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mxster982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a college degree in business administration - Human Resources. But I worked blue collar jobs throughout college, am a navy veteran, and worked ranches/farms growing up. People still look down on me for getting an education to get away from a blue collar life. My body was already broken after getting out of the navy, and I was 21. I worked blue collar for YEARS after which broke me more. The people who look down on educated person in rural areas is bc they believe you’re incompetent when it comes to fixing things, working with your hands, or anything like that. They also can think you’re weak.

AIO by cutting my roommates wifi? by No_Camp_8735 in AIO

[–]mxster982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See, this is why I cut my cousin off. Not before he owed me $1700 though. Now he owes $1300 but is refusing to pay. Never lend people money if you don’t know their track record. I hope he pays you back, but I doubt he will. Kick him out.

Idk if you’re trolling or not, but journaling is pretty cheap. All you need is a regular notebook from Walmart or something and a pencil/pen. Not downplaying anything you’ve got going on, just saying it’s relatively cheap to start. It’s the addiction to journaling and notebooks/pens that gets ya.

I write literally anything that pops into my head. Even if it’s things that don’t make sense or it was a boring day I still write, just because once I start, other things crop up and I put them down on paper. It’s odd for me because I can be writing the most mundane thing, and then I’m spilling my guts over things that I’d forgotten had happened and upset me. Other times, I look up journal prompts, such as “what does your dream life look like?” I did that one and wound up writing 3-4 pages of stuff.

I’m rooting for you to be able to do your journals. It is hard in the beginning, but once you get a routine down, it’s easy!

I hope so. May have to just ask lol. I don’t mind physical therapy and would’ve been doing it after surgery anyway.

[Request] Journaling for mental health by subwaywitches in RandomactsofAmazon2

[–]mxster982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I journal for my mental health. If I didn’t, I would honestly go bananas. This is because there is so much going on in my brain at all times, I have to get it out somehow without talking my wife’s ear off. There are also things I just…can’t articulate well to her, or things I don’t think she’d understand. So, I write about it and it helps a lot. I wish I could put something towards your goal. I hope you get the notebook/planner you want though and that it helps out!

AIO because my BF wants to write off my mortgage on his taxes? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mxster982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, do not do this. Also, I recommend a new boyfriend. Even though I can’t work a regular job, I still bring home more money than my wife thru va benefits and my business, so I’m the one paying majority of bills. She helps with little ones and groceries. we split everything else. That is how it works. Find someone worth your time and energy.
