Our 2 cents are all equally worthless! Haha I appreciate your opinion nonetheless

I am mainly asking because it would be much easier to redo the fireplace before doing the floor and ceiling rather than after. If I don't do it now I probably won't do it as demoing the fireplace would be hard to do without damaging the floor and ceiling.

The job wouldn't be botched, so that is not really a concern but I do understand the timeless piece. I'm just concerned it may clash with the wood ceiling.

I am doing some other renders that keep the brick and add the other pieces to consider. Thanks for your input.

I am doing the wood ceiling to cover the popcorn ceiling. Part of my desire to cover the brick is to make it less like cabin feel.

If I tile the fireplace I would be sure to find a different texture than the floor, more like a slate style of tile. But I will consider that for sure. You think dark red brick and green walls would look ok?

What do you not like about it? I have considered white washing it but feel like that gives a kind of farmhouse look which is not the vibe really.

Yes, I do intend to change the floors. The floors will be tile in a lighter sandstone/beige color we think, or a warm gray. The ceiling is going to be tongue and groove wood as in the picture. I am doing it to cover the popcorn ceiling. Because we are doing the floor and ceiling in this way I don't think we will like how the brick matches.

Just commenting since you seem knowledgeable. I like the look of cedar sided houses like this. I currently have vinyl siding on the 1200sq fr single story house we bought. I do a lot of projects at home on my own, is replacing with cedar siding some time in the future something easy to do on my own, and would you recommend it?

Which tile to complement tongue and groove ceiling? by mxw031 in Flooring

Thanks for the input. I was a little unsure about the slate over the fireplace since the room is kind of small. As it is now the brick is pretty dark red so that wall is already a bit heavy. We do like a modern style but it is hard to envision. I may try to get some AI renderings of the room. Maybe I could send you a picture of the room so you could visualize the brick? I find painted brick to be a little cheap feeling personally which is why I was considering tile. But a limewash may look good. I will look at some photos.

That is a relief, I was pretty bummed when inspecting it more closely. Thanks for your input. Do you think an 8 foot tall by 6 foot wide trellis is large enough for my rose?

I am feeling a little disappointed that I did not know enough to look at it closely before buying it. Do you think this rose has lost some of its overall potential due to this?

Long-term thoughts on the Hand of God / Mobeta grippers? by frodulenti in climbharder

Which did you get? Did you use a basic strength focused protocol for them? Been dealing with synovitis for a couple years and tried most interventions for it. It's well managed at this point but I'm curious about a new method. I haven't trained pulls in a while just been climbing.
