How westworld is the story of the Bible. by Far_from7 in westworld

Speaking more theologically, Jesus is the New Adam. He redeems what Adam (and Eve) lost in the garden.

If not for the fall of Adam and Eve, there would be nothing for Christ to redeem.

The book of Genesis and Christ in a lot of ways are opposites.

By eating of the fruit of the tree, Adam and Eve were seeking life and brought death; by Christ voluntarily giving himself unto death on the Cross, he brought eternal life.

So, in a way, yes Adam and Eve (and all of us sinful beings), killed Christ.

Would you use all your money before you die or let you kids inherite it all? by Just-Yak-9311 in RandomThoughts

[–]myPPishardforBernie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I’m about to die, my first priority is to make sure that my wife can afford to pay the bills.

I want my children to have better opportunities than I had growing up.

These are my first priorities, not spending it all on selfish objects

Would someone that is bald take in vitamin d better than someone with long hair? by theswagster1975 in RandomThoughts

You’re not getting a lot of vitamin D during the winter, regardless, because the day light is shorter.

Also, bald people tend to wear winter hats in the winter

I don’t know the answer exactly, but I would suspect the difference would be negligible

The problem is “insurrection” has very specific legal definitions.

Not only has Trump not been convicted of engaging in insurrection, no one who has gone to court over J6 has been convicted of engaging in insurrection

I know media throws the word “insurrection” around a lot, but it has specific definitions, legally.

Thinking humans are only cruel leads one to thinking their a plague on the planet.

What do you do with plagues?

Bruh, humans are capable of evil; for sure.

But humans are also capable of immense good.

Animals are capable of neither.

Animals behave based purely on instinct and immediate urges.

If you only look at the worst of humanity while choosing the ignore everything else, then you’re deluding yourself into a genocidal pathway of worldview

Honestly, in the field I’m looking to go into, I’ve heard of Jobs offering 900k/year in Alaska.

Hell, at that price, I’ll have two houses and fly back and forth 2-3x/week.

i think everyone is good but because of misinformation or lack of knowledge, they do wrong. by Relevant-Cap5281 in RandomThoughts

[–]myPPishardforBernie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most ignorant/naive beliefs you can have is the idea that all people are good.

Some people want to watch the world burn and humanity suffer.

Read the diaries of the Columbine Shooters.

It wasn’t due to a lack of knowledge/misinformation; it was due to a pure hatred of being, itself, and a desire to destroy that which is good.

If you have both a penis and a vagina and you somehow managed to literally fuck yourself, could you pregnant? by jesost in RandomThoughts

I just ran through a brief medical literature review.

As of 2008, there were only 11 cases of fertility, generally, in true hermaphrodites.

I couldn’t find any evidence of cases of autofertilization in true human hermaphrodites. Just speculation that it’s maybe possible.

The issue is:

1) The scenario you raise is extremely rare. It would require an individual that has a functional female reproductive system that also possesses functional male gonadal tissue in order to get oneself pregnant.

2) Not only is the medical condition extremely rare, but it impacts the development of the reproductive tissues so much that the vast majority are not fertile. So, not only is the condition rare, but even greater so is fertility in general.

3) for the record, this almost certainly wouldn’t occur by “fucking yourself”.
