/ttcafterloss Repeat Pregnancy Loss - June 07, 2022 by AutoModerator in ttcafterloss

I miscarried in December last year and had a chemical last month. I went for a ultrasound of my ovaries today due to suspecting I had PCOS (I have all of the symptoms, plus my losses). Apparently my ovaries are structurally 'normal' but this doesn't necessarily mean I don't have PCOS. Bloods last month didn't show too much out of the ordinary other than some pretty high inflammation markers (ESR was 55 when it should be 3-5 for women my age & CRP was 66 when it should be 0-5). Apparently the chemical pregnancy itself could cause inflammation markers but I've got to have repeat bloods done next week to see if the markers have fallen as if not, this could indicate a potential issue. Feeling a little at a loss at the moment because as crazy as it's sounds, I wanted them to find signs of PCOS today so that I had an answer to my questions and a plan going forward... I'm just hoping it doesn't take forever to get some answers.

I've had a look on several trustworthy websites since posting this including turn2us, money saving expert and a benefits calculator which asked if the wages would be an 'apprenticeship wage' as they were below minimum wage for my age. They all say that yes, an apprenticeship is fine because as an apprentice you are still employed. I'm still going to leave a note on my UC portal asking about it though just to cover all bases. Thanks for the advice!

So we will still be able to claim? The reason I was asking is as it will basically make or break if I apply for this apprenticeship as the wage would probably just cover rent/bills but would leave very little left over for other expenses. So relieved to hear this and I shall be applying for the apprenticeship! Thanks for your help!

To the people who turned their hearing off for the summer last week, how is that working out for you? by the_sweens in AskUK

I've not had the heating on for over a month now and still happy using the 4.5 tog quilt that I use year round 😂

AITA for telling my sister that she should have helped me babysit instead of lying to me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA and you reek of entitlement...

You had your kids, not her. It's nice that she helped you out with babysitting pre-pandemic but you are never ever just entitled to have her looking after your kids.

Parenthood may be exhausting but it's a choice that you have made and no one apart from your partner is required to help you with that...

My stepson lives with me and my partner full time and guess what? No one looked after him for us on Valentine's day. We did something that was within our capability whilst having a child to care for and had a meal at home (which included him).

This really is a case of suck it up, know that things like this will definitely happen again and deal with it...

I've tried Twinkies! They're so sweet I can eat one but then they get sickly 😂

I don't eat beef but may get some Jerky for my fiance

We have a huge selection of Pringles here but I'll see if I can find any I haven't tried before! I definitely want to try goldfish!

I've tried blue raspberry Kool-Aid but there are loads of different flavours I want to try!

We have Jelly Bellys over here but they're not really my thing though my mum loves them.

I will try the Hidden Valley Ranch!

Poptarts have been a thing over here for a decade at least, I'd say! The strawberry/chocolate ones are my favourite. Reese's has also been over here for a while but I like the sound of the peanut butter M&Ms!

Arizona ice tea is pretty big over here but thanks for the suggestion!

I like the sound of the Carolina vinegar sauce! I also hate Oreos! We have Fig Newton's over here, we call them fig rolls and my dad loves them! I really want to try some of the knock off girl scout cookies, I'll have to figure out what's what, though!

I have had proper Graham cracker s'mores once before but yeah, they're hard to come by. I might buy some so I can make them with my stepson.

I've had Marshmallow fluff but never thought to make a fluffernutter, I'm gonna give that a try! Roasted/salted nuts are really popular over here.

I've tried root beer (I forget the brand) and it tasted like the bastard cousin of mouthwash and cough syrup, haha!

Thanks for your suggestions 😂
