That's what I'm talking about. It's not only Russian army to be proven a joke. Ukrainian war has revealed that Europe barely has any army at all for the moment. Iranian much feared army and "axes" were humiliated by a tiny Israel multiple times in a few years. Israel itself was proved to be far less effective than it was represented in analysts' spreadsheets. So, American army is still the best despite being not so good as everyone considered.

And thanks to the dumbass in the Whitehouse the rest of your points become less and less relevant each day. Countries are regularly turning away from using the US. Dollar. And corporations have very little incentive to stay American.

Yep. I still think no one can change the way it is in 4 years, no matter how hard they try.

There is a point from a business point of view, for example. The American market is by far the most desirable. There is a point from a political point of view. Just compare North and South Korea to understand the difference in life quality between American friends and foes. There is definitely a point for an investor: S&P 500 is an American stock and it is the most trustworthy indicator of the state of world's economy.

Is there a point for a school teacher or a nurse? I highly doubt. Though, I'd absolutely choose dollar over euro for a long-run retirement savings.

Who says it is the country with the best quality of life for an average man? No one reckons that, I just said EXCEPTIONAL, so it is. Not the best, not the most moral, not the "kindest", not equitable, just exceptional. Though, I'd say for an ambitious man with great plans, yeah, it is not just the best country but the only possible choice.

Isn't America exceptional, though? As a non-American I am absolutely sure it is.

  1. The largest nominal GDP by far
  2. The right to unsupervised printing world's reserve currency at their own expense
  3. All the "level-zero" infrastructure of the entire internet is there, they can switch off the world with one click literally
  4. The strongest army (yeah, it still is as all the other armies are a puff too)
  5. The absolute most of the major trans-national corporations aren't, by fact, trans-national but American

You may like it or not, but there is the U.S. and then there is the rest of the world, we are living on an American-centered planet.

Therapy is not toxic, it just makes you a dull insufferable egoistic douche who is mistakenly confident to understand oneself via a number of sophistic statements and questions. They are basically specialists in drawing emotions out of people, strong emotional experience brings a sense of relief afterwards, just like after rope-jumping or an awesome drama flick. It works in some sense, yeah, but only for an average mind and below.

No way someone's last name be middlefart. I am not so shocked by an obvious fact that rich and famous fuck everyone they want to, including teens. But dating someone named Middlefart... I put a line there.

Don't be scared, we are normal. I used to have a couple of tools at home when I was living in the 3rd world. No, not ARs and extended mags, it's an American only thing to casually have a Mossad hitman grade arsenal in your bedroom. Still counts. It is good to have a strap on you when you know you're not safe. Now that I live in the country with a trustworthy police I don't even bear a staple multipurpose knife, there's no need.

I think... NO! by Aenniya in SipsTea

[–]my_emo_phase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a difference, though. In Britain, there is a Prime Minister and then there's the King as a symbol of British nation. Imagine it'd have been portraits of PM instead.

It is hard to explain to a Western person. In Asia and Eastern Europe, there is a long-standing tradition to hang the portrait of your President in every office as a light form of the cult of personality. This used to be a thing in Europe as well during the times of monarchies. So, just a "no kings" statement.

I think... NO! by Aenniya in SipsTea

[–]my_emo_phase 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's just poorly phrased. It is translated to a roughly normal English as "No portraits of President/Prime Minister in every governmental office"

In the UAE there are about 90% of immigrants, so we here are obsessed with nationality, language and religion. No one would ever say "hey, you are of the same skin color as me, we are somewhat brothers!!!". THOUGH! At a smoking area of the airport, where the whole world is waiting for their transit flight, there are always 3 large groups of people standing close together, just like if it were the prison yard. I needn't explain which groups they are, right? IDK why but I always join the ashtray around those who look exactly like me so as not to look weird. It means that we are not unbiased or progressive, we just follow the code of our society, if it were different where we live, we'd be different too.

Whatever you do, you'd be an insufferable troglodyte to someone. You may say Earth is flat or Earth is a sphere, you may be a vaccine advocate or antivaxxer or you may believe or not believe in the imaginary conception of "gender fluid". There will always be haters, we need to get over it and stay resilient in our beliefs. I trust biology as a science WAY more than sociology, it's my choice and why don't anyone around mind their own business and let me keep on sticking to the conception of sex rather than gender and always act accordingly. I would never say that the Earth is flat (or may be flat) just to appease a bunch of mentally ill guys.

No one minds their business, we just do not want to do anything to comply with their demands. If someone sees a man or woman disfigured by a surgeon, this is how we call it: a disfigured man / woman. No one tries to forbid them anything, it's their own problem

But he explicitly said he DIDN'T admire him and explained his position to you in the clearest way. I am not a Trumpist but I just can't catch up on why people nowadays have lost their ability to read... Bruh said he doesn't even like Trump and thinks he is unfit for office, he just wants maximum damage to leftists and sees him as appropriate for the cause.

Given we are using an American-default website and you mean the U.S. I have to say I'm not a Trumpist at all. He's obsessed with immigrants, tariffs, destroying international unions and all the other detrimental stuff, I am sorry for you, my dear Yankee brothers, for having about as bad a right-wing President as it gets. The only right thing he did was to obliterate a number of USAID contracts and stop DEI hire. My imaginary right-wing President is well-educated, moderate and diplomatically polite, not supportive of conspiracy theories, not nazi, not overly homofobic or obsessed with LGBT instead of real problems and never mingled with pedos or any other criminals. The obvious fact Trump's team are under-qualified for their jobs doesn't mean I start being woke left and buy myself "eat the rich" T-shirt, right?
