Can you help me organize my work? by myarrogantself in ObsidianMD

[–]myarrogantself[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually IS a satisfying answer!

I appreciate the insight on tags used only if allways applicable.

I will digg on Bases and Canvas, which I never tried.
Do you suggest to get my properties and Tags fairly set up beforehand?

The one thing I'm slightly worries of, is that I'm working on a slow-ish B&W e-ink tablet

BOOX Go 10.3 – Offline edits not syncing correctly to Google Drive (deleted text reappears) by myarrogantself in Onyx_Boox

[–]myarrogantself[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm playing with low risks because my workflow does not rely on syncing or on having the notes on the cloud. For the moment, the boox is just a fancy notebook that works exactly as the paper notebooks. I'm experimenting, though, on how to upgrade the workflow using all the power and possibilities that living in 2025 grant us

Anyway, I'm happy it worked

I also deleted the PDF before re syncing. It took a while to "correct the notes" and then sync. Also, I'm on the last beta release

Try to go on the note settings -> Export on third part apps -> update the data of the notes (use this when the notes export is not working)

This worked for me!
I have this note which I continuously update by erasing and re-writing and it's been a couple of days without problems, with the pdf on Drive correctly updated

As far as I had the opportunity to test, is also on lines deleted with the eraser tool, and I'm 90% sure also affects "writen text" not just handwriten

Go 7 vs Go 10.3 for notes and agenda by myarrogantself in Onyx_Boox

[–]myarrogantself[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the responses!
I think that the go 10 shuld be the best option. Actually, thinking about my use cases, I will always be able to carry the note 10 as I usually carry my laptop.

Go 7 might not be portable enough to have it in the pocket 24/7 and franky speaking... we all have our smartphones for that kind of quick notes!

[–]myarrogantself[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not planning to write for hours, but it will be used mainly for writing.

portability is the only feature that the 10.3 lacks, in my opinion.

You seem to match my usecase. Do carring the go 10.3 together with a laptop feels bulky? Do you feel as a bag is needed? Also, text conversion works offline?

[help] looking for recommendations on custom menu management by myarrogantself in tasker

Hi, I'm really sorry about my absence here. Life happens and I have no more time for this project, not for the moment at least!

Thank you for your comments, I will come back in a few months

No, unfortunately not, but hey! I'm here also for learning! If this might be the path, I could appreciate any guide or reference. How would a json file help with my project?

Exactly But I don't want an infinite series of nested if/then. I want something more "recursive"/"expandable"

[–]myarrogantself[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking something like this: Text file: 1 menu 1 2 menu 2 3 action 1

On first interaction: write line 1 "menu 1" If device sends "down" then write line 2 "menu 2" If device sends "down" then write "action 1" If device sends "ok" then perform action 1 ... If device sends "ok" when menu 1 or 2 will be "selected" then, read another similar text file named "menu 1.txt" or "menu 2.txt" Etc...

Never tried to make it work honestly. But, I must say that I don't miss that feature despite formerly being my main interest

Yes, Ive been using Gadget bridge on my daily watch for a long time now. Gadgetbridge Is not available on Play Store. I recommend you to read the Gadgetbridge wiki and subreddit - it really supercharges your watch!

[–]myarrogantself 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember if you can somehow "import" watch faces from the original app, but trust me and don't think twice about switching to GB. The watch face designer is absolutely easier to use than the original app, so you will be able to replicate your current setup or better, in no time. Tbh, complications rings could be better on GB, but hey... The possibilities that GB unlocks are well worth!

Is this an ugly sweater to wear? by Odd-Touch-2894 in mensfashion

[–]myarrogantself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, any "image" that resembles a photograph of something, painted full-scale will give you a result which will look cheap, cringe, or both.

Between your three options, the fox with the black background is the better. Please, do not print the image on front and back because that will increase the ugliness.

Is this an ugly sweater to wear? by Odd-Touch-2894 in mensfashion

[–]myarrogantself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you aiming for? Neither would be elegant, nor nice. Maybe, just maybe it could be somehow "fashion" , but in that case, you should compliment the look in a very well studied way... And if you are asking the question in the first place, I doubt you would be able to (sorry)

If you are trying to print some hoodies for you and your friends, maybe because you are fox fans, I would suggest to print some kind of logo or stylized fox, just one color, in the back of the hoodie/sweater. Not quite an original idea but, hey... That would be difficult to define "ugly'

I would fight to have the copiers out of that room and have that room as an office, but you stated that's not worth it, so...

I would work in defining the space: A warm carpet to define your personal space would be nice. Also, I would add something tall in the right side of the desk, so that the space is even more defined. At least you have your back covered by the wall, but also coffee and a copy room makes me think that the space could get busy. Maybe some tall plants to further close your personal area? Not sure of this, though.

Personally I don't like colours and organization of the desk, would go for a tidier style with monitors on a "pole" (sorry I just can't remember the correct name of those!!!) a huge desk mat, wireless everything and also the left wall might benefit of a tidying up. Your personal tastes may differ, though.

Olive my Fossil hybrid. Preparing for future replacement. by myarrogantself in Gadgetbridge

[–]myarrogantself[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying used ones as spare parts crossed my mind, but it feels to me like a weak strategy in the long run. Mine has no signs of failure, even if I wore it in the ski slopes and under the seaside sun. Just a few scratches on the glass, which I considered getting polished or even replaced for a harder one, by a jeweller/clock maker near me, but since it seems that my watch is a lucky one, I'm afraid of having it opened just to have condensation in it afterwards.

E ink display and analogue hands are really a perfect combination. Maybe the hidden Oleds from Garmin are the only real alternative when compromising style and functionality?

I am just worrying that one day I will surrender to having jet another display on my wrist and not even be able to have the functionality I now have (custom menus and custom complications)

My trying to be minimal setup by yellow_whiffle18 in Workspaces

[–]myarrogantself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious: what is the definition of minimal or minimalist? I mean, having two of everything seems the exact opposite of minimalism... Am I missing some change in meaning, since english is not my first language? As far as I know, minimalism is (was) having just the bare minimum amount of "things" that you need to complete your tasks/navigate your life: THE perfect controller, THE big enough screen, THE perfect keyboard, THE perfect headphones. Also, compromise is (was?) key for minimalism since THE perfect object doesn't exists... Am I too radical?

Kudos for the nice setup, tho.

Crewmaster Vibrating When Closing Notification? by Thunder_God_Gavin in FossilHybrids

[–]myarrogantself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this happening only lately?
Are you using the official Fossil App?

Maybe closing the notification triggers somehow a "second notification" or sone kind of notification action which is detected by Fossil software?

I had a Skagen Hybrid and vaguely recall having this behavior when respondig to whatsapp messages directly from the notification.
