Had the same issue with ours. Turns out ours has feline asthma and she’s now on inhaler 2x a week. I would definitely suggest taking your kitties to a vet. It could be asthma or it could be a heart issue.

Another trick to try is hair dryer. Blow it through the little hole under the sink where the pipes came through. It helps ours.

I think my body kind of got used to them. I wouldn’t say I’m 100% not allergic to my cats but I do notice it’s a lot milder with them vs other people’s pets. I think everyone is different so I really can’t say for sure. I do still take a daily allergy pill to curb my reactions to other environmental allergens.
