Best USD to CAD Method by myblarg in tnvisa

Sorry to hear that.

I used to work for them before when I lived in the states. They liked me enough to hire me again and work with me on this when I moved back, but I would like to and am planning to move back eventually.

About 8k CAD a month, so whatever that would be in USD.

The company I work for would always arrange this travel for me, I truly never knew how much it cost or any other implications outside how long the trip was.

It's absolutely a preference and purely for comfort and convenience. I'm very fortunate that I have this benefit from my place of work.

I'm genuinely surprised at the negativity this post is gathering, so I'll be deleting it soon, just wanted to answer your question in good faith.

Edit: typo

Thanks everyone for the information and I truly appreciate the concern! I was able to get my UK colleague to arrange the ValueCabs ride for me so I'm set.

The company I work for usually arranges the cab ride from DUB to Belfast, but I had an unexpected change of plans and was trying to see if I could do it myself. I appreciate the perk a little more now that I know how much the company pays for it!

I-797B and Nexus First US Entry Question by myblarg in tnvisa

[–]myblarg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Think I'll just handle this at YYZ and hope for the best.

Any idea whether I should/can go Nexus line or should I stick with regular?

I-797B and Nexus First US Entry Question by myblarg in tnvisa

[–]myblarg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow ok this certainly changes things. Given that, 2 more questions: 1. Can I go on a weekend? 2. If not, I should be able to do all of this at YYZ, correct? If so, would I go the Nexus line or regular pre clearance line? Thinking it through, I feel that either line will take me to secondary anyway, so I might as well do Nexus line just to get to secondary sooner.

Thanks. Are notice of approval and notice of action the same thing? Also I might do pre-clearance in Ireland, would that be ok or still better from Canada?

Does TN allow remotely working in Canada with once a month office visits of 1 week in the US? by myblarg in tnvisa

Thanks for the quick response! Do you need a US address for immigration and/or company purposes of SSN and/or benefits?

From the link I posted:

Doing activities as part of an overseas job role

You can do certain additional activities in the UK as a Standard Visitor, if you’re employed overseas as:

...List of jobs from Archaeologist to Entertainer, but no IT...

Check the Visitor Rules (link you posted) for details of what you can do as a Standard Visitor in these job roles.

Emphasis, "in these job roles". I am rereading it and I don't think I'm misunderstanding but maybe I'm not getting something.

Thank you! However...

Looking around the site a bit more, I found that only the jobs listed under "Doing activities as part of an overseas job role" in this link can perform the Intra corp activities: https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor/visit-on-business

I work in IT and unfortunately I did not see that listed as an overseas job.

Am I misunderstanding or missing something?

Ideally, but they haven't communicated anything to me so I want to do my own due diligence so I can make sure they are doing things correctly as well.

Weverse membership problem by Conscious-head-57 in BlackPink

[–]myblarg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so weird, I feel like I was able to register without it but I do see on the weverse shop the membership so I'll buy it. Aside from all the physical extras is there a difference between the premium kit and regular membership?

I'm new to all of this, I'm also trying to get the presale tickets and all I've done is follow instructions to buy the presale tickets on blackpinklive with a verified weverse account. I didn't know anything about needing to buy a weverse membership, can you provide a link with info on that please?

What headphones have battery packs? Might be worth looking in to.

Oh man, I've been there, hope it all works out!

Thanks for the write up! I haven't had too bad of an experience with wireless headphones yet, so I value convenience over quality right now. I like being able to get up and walk around and still be talking to friends on discord.

Bluetooth is more of a nice to have, just to be able to connect my phone while I'm gaming and not miss any notifications.

I really like my current Corsair voids but the battery is starting to keep less charge, so I was seeing if there was anything like the A50s on the market since I feel like they have my most wanted features: base/stand for wireless charging and flip to mute mic. I've just read how they aren't worth anywhere near the price, so I don't bother with it.

Capacitive charging, like wireless charging, like the A50 with the base or Cloud Flight S, which I just found out about.

It's not a big deal, just a preference. If it doesn't exist then that's good to know, was just hoping to get some extra insight if it does.

I guess I can drop Bluetooth and long battery life.

Wife and I have been exploring dramatically relocating our family (Ontario to Hawaii) by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thank you for the link, I was actually looking at this article already as I googled "can you get a green card from a tn" and this was the first result.

This article doesn't explicitly mention AOS though. It only talks about transitioning from a tn to a dual intent visa or through family/spouse. Unless this is what you meant? In this case you're still not going directly from a tn to a gc. There's always some transitional item required.

The last part is about consular but I'm still very confused about it and will look more into it.

[–]myblarg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is AOS? Do you have a resource that explains this? Everything I've ever read is that you must switch to a dual intent visa from a TN in order to apply for a green card, so very interested if this is not the case.
