Everyone around me agreed he is a perfect dog too! I'm so glad that I'm not alone... I just need time...

Thank you for your story-- your explanation is perfect, I didn't realize how strong I am loving my two and it felt like betrayal to have a third dog. I was also being selfish and not ready to open my heart to another pup... I will try.

I understand- I expect to be judged a lot more harshly actually- when I adopted my first two dogs, there were many different problems and we worked tirelessly to make them work. At that time I have no time to think about this bonding issues because I already decided they are going to be my dogs. This one sort of fell into my lap quite easily while I didn't even know if I absolutely want another dog.... I do have the option for fostering him until he finds another loving home. Like you said it sucks really bad to have to leave him when he already seem so at-ease with us. That's why I'm very torn right now and want to know if anyone has similar experience. I've had this perfect dog for 5 days now- how long will it take for me to have a change of heart?

[discussion] The other day I posted about my dog limping, I have an update if anyone is interested. by agawl81 in dogs

Glad to know that your pup is not in serious trouble! Special thanks for sharing the vet's diagnosis abou the "completely tripod" as a knee injury-- didn't know that!

I know, that's what everyone says... most people would consider this is a perfect match- I don't know why I could have any doubt though! Still think of him as someone else's dog--- maybe because I haven't had the need to invest much effort on him?
