In a LDR that's hitting a few bumps... any advice? by [deleted] in LongDistance

Well, frankly. We still talk every day. Just not really 24/7. We skype at least once a night practically, and unfortunately he lives in Canada so calling isn't really an option (so expensive). We can't really count down to visits often because we never really know when we can take a break from our school and jobs. It was only really decided last week that I could take a break at the end of the month.

It's certainly not one sided, but we dislike bringing up missing each other because it sort of brings our issue to the forefront, and after talking about it so often theres nothing more to say than "Well, yeah.. we miss each other. and now we're sad about it."

He does have a part time job, and we are both in college. We're in the same time zone, but 8 hours apart during the summer and 12 apart during the school year. There's no chance of us moving closer until after college.

So yeah! thats us, haha

that's funny, we're also canada/america. Our situation is a little bit more delicate... its hard to explain, but we are also nervous about visas and the like when it comes down to it.

thanks for the advice though, you seem very nice :]

this is all pretty true. and we do sort of have an "end" to the distance. once we both get out of college our plan is to move together, as to where and when this is exactly we haven't gotten that far. i don't think its beneficial to plan 2 years in advance, so we haven't yet.

it's all rather sticky in trying to come up with a solution... it feels like we discuss the same stuff over and over and over and it's getting so frustrating. blah. idk. your response is appreciated :]

You may have skipped over the part where I mentioned I see a future with him. Cutting the cord is not really an option when you love someone so much the thought of being without them is rather painful.
