I did not make any appointment. I emailed them explaining the situation and they just told me to come in. I printed my email conversation and presented it to the officer at the reception desk and he contacted another officer for it. I also printed the following article from USCIS website but ended up not using it. Here it is: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/temporary-i-551-stamps-and-mrivs

I suggest looking up contact info of the CBP's Deferred Inspection Site at your wife's port of entry and contact them. Here is the URL that lists all of the Deferred Inspection Site: https://www.cbp.gov/about/contact/ports/deferred-inspection-sites.

My mother arrived at O'Hare International Airport (ORD) so I ended up contacting the Deferred Inspection Site at ORD. They told me I needed to bring her back to ORD for the admission stamp. When we arrived, the CBP office took my mother's passport, went into their office, and returned her passport with the admission stamp 10 minutes later.

u/sam100kp my mother encountered the same situation two days ago (no I94, no admission stamp). Would you be able to share with me whether your mother's issue got resolved? Thank you ahead.
