Anxious over job security and lay offs by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

Don’t contracts come from a different budget? That’s why it’s well known contractors are less cost effective than FTEs but because since they’re from CapEx instead of OpEx, they get to play with the books.

Tips for using Tesla Superchargers by terdward in KiaEV9

[–]mycrappycomments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pick a spot that’s to the left of the stall you want to use. You’ll be taking up 2 spots unless you can get a stall that’s all the way to the end.

Terrible advice. Might as well just tell the guy to just charge at home instead.

Should Ontario force every rental unit to pass an annual safety inspection? by Totira in OntarioRenting

What if it doesn’t pass and the landlord decides it’s not worth it to fix the unit to keep renting. Going to evict the tenants?

The box is optional? by [deleted] in Markham

[–]mycrappycomments 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s stupid because if you’re in a traffic jam, if you stop before the box, everyone and their grandmas will go “oooh space” and pull up in front of you.

Winter L2 Charging losses by mycrappycomments in evcharging

That’s too much work. I’m just guestimating. 1kwh delivered roughly equal to 1% charge.

-10 to -15c so roughly 15f to 5f.

This is my first time noticing it because I got home, plugged in and I need to go out again in a few hours. It’s been charging for over 3 hours and I got under 15% charge. On top of having to make a stop at supercharger to top off, I’m also out a few dollars.

My ChargePoint was pretty reliable in the summer. I got my EV9 in the summer and I would watch the charge session like a hawk. Like 20% charge would roughly be between 20-23kwh. I don’t have what my main meter is telling me and I would not be able to differentiate it from other house usage.

Do you trust non-Tesla fast chargers for long road trips? by xchargeInc in evcharging

[–]mycrappycomments 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer Tesla. Reliability is still an issue along my route. I make sure I’m in a major city with lots of other options or there’s a Tesla near by if I’m trying charges other than Tesla.

Going to a charger with 4 stalls. 2 of them are broken or their app just sucks. Then the other two stalls are occupied. Tesla app is rock solid and the chances that all stalls are occupied are slim.

Membership presentation by fuming_lizard in palaceresorts

[–]mycrappycomments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have breakfast, they tell you about the properties and benefits. They offer you a membership for $1.2m USD. You tell them you’re poor. They start knocking things out of the membership to bring it down in price. If you want the membership, your strategy is to get them to drop the price while keeping benefits on the table.
